Can you go and just have a drink at the California Grill

Can you go to the California Grill for just a drink and watch the fireworks? Do they have a bar there?

I believe that you can. We were there a few weeks ago and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. A group rode up the elevator with us JUST to go to the bar. We had a nice drink and an appetizer..you don't have to eat a full meal. It is great if you can get there close to Wishes..there is an observation deck (actually 2). Enjoy!

IMHO, the sunset from the CG is far better than fireworks...to be up so high in a flat state like Florida is amazing, and you do look roughly to the west. I am going in two weeks and booked so that we would be there at that time. The fireworks are enjoyable, but the sunset is incredible, as is the view. Not sure about going for just drinks, but know you will love being there.

Officially, you must have an ADR to go up to the restaurant. From time to time, the restaurant doesn't book up and they allow people to go up to the bar but it is rare.

People with reservations are escorted up to the CG via an elevator. Unfortunately you will need to check in first and have a reservation in order to do that. CG has a very nice bar area with chairs and tables to sit and have a drink while waiting to be seated for dinner. It would be a very nice place to have drinks only if this were allowed. :mickey:

It might be worth a call..like I said there were people on the elevator with us who went to the bar only..nd that was after asking downstairs. We went at 9:50pm so maybe that was why..not many ADR's at that hour!

:-o We ate dinner there in January 2007. At that time you had to have a reservation and you were escorted up in a special elevator. I would suggest getting a reservation and just order a appetizer or something light.
