Monday - Epcot
Cast - me 38, DH Phil also 38, DD Stephanie 12 and DD Megan 7
We decided this morning to sleep in a bit - 8a! After the usual morning routine, we headed off to Epcot. First thing, we have to find our tile (http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/10541/2000945350102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)on the "tombstones" (http://inlinethumb09.webshots.com/13576/2327966680102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) - I love having that silly little tile. I feel like a part of me is always at WDW even when I can't be. We poked around inside the new technology area at the rear of SSE but were disappointed that we couldn't ride the attraction due to the rehab. We grabbed FP for TT and headed over to MS (http://inlinethumb13.webshots.com/9484/2684299050102032678S600x600Q85.jpg). Again, it was Megan's first ride to Mars and she loved it! After MS, we experienced Ellen's Energy Adventure - this show always cracks me up and it's a great way to escape the heat for a while. On the way to Ellen's, I noticed that the DNA sculpture is gone from the front of the WoL pavillion but the sign is still on the building itself - such a sad looking place. Now it was time for TT as our FP window had opened. The girls loved the "ride" in this baby (http://inlinethumb64.webshots.com/10239/2851859620102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) at the end! Good thing neither one can drive yet! We opted for a healthy lunch of hot pretzels (hey, it's a vacation!) then headed over to The Seas and rode the Nemo ride. I liked it better this time around. We poked around the aquariums, the girls visited Bruce (http://inlinethumb08.webshots.com/12807/2198881460102032678S600x600Q85.jpg), and we watched Turtle Talk where Megan got picked to ask a question. She wanted to know what sea turtles eat because last time Crush talked about how sea weed gives him the "bubbles" but she was disappointed when he didn't mention his "bubble" problem this time. When we reached The Land, Soarin' had a 75 min wait - definately time for FP here but our return time was for 7p to 8p, 6 hrs later! We watched the Circle of Life film and rode the boat ride. I like it without the talking CM - it's easier to hear since it's louder and clearer. Stephanie loves the Figment ride so we headed there next - no wait! The kids played in the Kodak Imageworks (http://inlinethumb03.webshots.com/8386/2280588500102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) for a few minutes then we headed off to the World Showcase. Megan took the time to stop and smell the roses (http://inlinethumb63.webshots.com/13246/2456604060102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)along the way. We had a fantastic dinner at Le Cellier - our first time (and not the last!) here. That chocolate mousse (http://inlinethumb21.webshots.com/10516/2760137200102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)is just too cute. I almost didn't want to eat it - but I did. The girls got to see Kenai (http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/12728/2993321500102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) after dinner. He tried to eat Fluffy the Yeti (http://inlinethumb43.webshots.com/12906/2163956870102032678S600x600Q85.jpg). We explored Canada and the UK (http://inlinethumb53.webshots.com/11572/2278221420102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) a bit then headed back to The Land for our Soarin' FPs. Some guys in the standby line were giving a poor CM a hard time because we were all going ahead of them. She was trying to explain the FP system to them with little success - poor girl! We met a great family from the UK in line. The parents hadn't been to Disney in 15 years and the kids had never been. They were nervous about Soarin' but we told them how wonderful it was. We all rode together and after they told us how right we were. We headed back to the WS, stopping to take these pics of Monorail Black (http://inlinethumb01.webshots.com/10112/2030626130102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)and the upsidedown waterfall (http://inlinethumb17.webshots.com/10768/2109042090102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) on the way. We made our way to France (http://inlinethumb54.webshots.com/10997/2509939280102032678S600x600Q85.jpg) and the Guerlain shop. I love Shalimar so I played with the testers a bit. Raul came to assist me and ended up taking Megan over to put some $350 body cream on her arms - she can be quite the little flirt and he was eating it up! By this time, it was nearly 9p so we hurried around the WS lagoon towards Canada to find a decent spot to watch Illuminations. The show was great as usual! We then shuffled our way off to the bus - I got this great shot of SSE and the fountain (http://inlinethumb56.webshots.com/11127/2140030990102032678S600x600Q85.jpg)on the way. It was time to head "home" to POFQ to hit the sack for another big day tomorrow!
