So sorry for the cliff hanging delay. My ISP somehow "lost" my IP address and I have had no service for the last couple days. I was able to read and post a quick response to a question from work, but that was it. Anyway.....on with the show!

Cast:
DH - Ben - 42 - Fell in love with WDW on his very first trip, hence, he bought into DVC for my wedding present!! Thanks Ben.

Me - Kristen - 36 - Been in love with all things Disney since I was a little girl!!

August 11-16, 2007, Just the two of us for a bit of rest and relaxation......yeah right!

Alarm? What alarm? We don't need no stinkin' alarm. I refused to set it. We had breakfast in our room, showered and hopped on the bus to Epcot. We decided to stay on the monorail to see how long we would be the lone people in the car we had. So, once to TTC, back to Epcot, back to TTC...this is where we got off as there was a good sized crowd waiting to enter. I even snapped a picture of the yellow monorail (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2772628900042804337jLZOSE)as it went whipping by us. This took two takes as I only got the "tale end" of it the first time. The second picture is a bit blurry, but it was neat to try and snap it while whirring by. Funny how you can see my reflection in the window, my hand, my camera and my knee. Thought it was interesting. After leaving the monorail, we decided that was enough and headed for the boat. I got some pretty neat pictures of the "Point" (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2681896800042804337gVrDxF) at the Poly (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2863947270042804337JKZOYU) (side note: this is where Ben and I got married (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2257014040042804337kqMqyR) last year), the Contemporary (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2389363980042804337aEZKPC), construction at Contemporary (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2959968120042804337EZVKWX), The Magic Kingdom (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2845163080042804337uSSmPH), The Monorail (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2726831100042804337iXoAAr), The Grand Floridian (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2930320380042804337MqPqoP), another boat (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2516303080042804337SzIJms), and even a parasailor (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2002774780042804337lhYqya). The crew thought I was staying on for a return trip because I was THE last person off.

Once inside MK, we headed for the firehouse, Engine Co. 71 (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2388011000042804337YMgFpc). It was closed, no one knew why, but it was. I was sadly disappointed. I was hoping for a new Mickey's Fire Dept. t-shirt. I lost custody of my last one years ago.

After taking the "Keys to the Kingdom" tour last year, I have made it a point to say "hello" to Walt's Window (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2110675630042804337VqHSQG). Claudia, our CM, told us how the CMs usually wave and say hi or good night each day. So I have made this a tradition for our family. For those who don't know, Walt's Window can be found above the Plaza Restaurant. I stood on the curbing behind the snack cart that was there.

We decided to head to Adventureland, as the firefighter in DH says, stay to the right. We had to change that. We are Disney, for goodness sakes. Anyway, we climbed the Swiss Family Treehouse. Ben noticed and stated before I could, where is the Master Bedroom? We saw a tiny bedroom and another room with "bunks". I always love the music played from here. It's just so cool. We then climbed aboard the Jungle Cruise. Our CM was quite funny, but no one really got into it. She teased a lady, the last one getting in, as to how slow she was being, but that didn't bother her. She just moved even slower and then laughed at the CM. Once we made it back safely from our cruise, we had to visit Pecos Bills. I just love their chili cheese fries. Then I add the fried onions from the topping bar. Talk about heartburn city. But my "little purple pill" saved me.

It is nearing noon and we have a mini Intercot meet. Right on time, up walks DWHubby and DisneyWhirled with their two darling little ones (Colby and Kaylee) and DisneyWhirled's Mom, and then about 30 seconds later up walks kakn7294, her hubby and their two beautiful daughters (Stephanie and Megan). Wilful and his wife Shannon, were supposed to meet up with us, but they were running late. We swapped gifts, just a little trinket from our home states, thanks for the lobster!! We sit around and chat for a bit and someone gives a great suggestion to watch the Tiki birds. So as a big gethering, we sit near the back with an awesome view and we are all singing along. I love this show. Afterwards, we stand at the exit in the shade talking some more. We met some really nice people and hope to meet up with them again on another trip to the world. We have pictures taken of just the I-Cot members (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2944234660042804337jtiPkx) (DWHUBBY, DISNEYWHIRLED, KAKN7294, DOLPHINMICKEY9170) and then one of everyone (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2249087140042804337ockmGM). With the exception of DisneyWhirled's Mom, she was the photographer;)! (Thanks to Karen's Mom)!! We dedided to part ways and continue our day. We had dinner ressies with John and Karen at 530pm at the Plaza, so we all went in different directions. As we walked away from the Tiki birds, I hear this yelling....KRISTEN.....and then someone is grabbing me by the shoulders. It is Shannon. She and I have worked together a few times in the ER at my hospital. They were just running behind. Willful is new to Intercot, thanks to me, but he and Shannon have their own website and podcast. I cannot post the name of their site or podcast, but if you would like to have it, please PM or email me and I will gladly give it to you. Will warned me he was recording, but I didn't mind. So we got liquid refreshement and headed off to PoTC. This is DHs favorite ride. We then head for a "dark" ride, Snow White. I love the colors. We head on over to Space Mountain, using Will's FP he got from a CM and DH played baseball in the arcade. Philharmagic was our next stop, no one would crowd together as the CM was advising. I guess some people are just afraid of other people near or touching them. We ride the CoP, and if you listen to Shannon (on podcast) you will find she doesn't know the words, so she tries to learn it. (Side note: she still doesn't know the words after two weeks in WDW:D). We part company with the plan to meet for breakfast tomorrow at O'Hana, but they need to change the ressie for 8 people as there is another family (teen disney podcaster) joining us. When we call, they tell us they are completely booked, but try again in a few hours as things change. The next call gives us a response of "We are over booked, sorry". Well, we decide that we can go to Kona in the event we can't get together.

We meet up with John and family for dinner. We are seated within a couple minutes. Having eaten at the Plaza before, I didn't know there was an appetizer. It isn't listed in plain sight on the menu. So we asked. Small salad or soup. Ben and John have the Cheesesteak Sub, Karen had the Strawberry Salad (HUGE), I have the Plaza Club (Also HUGE) and Karen's Mom has the Tuna on a Croissant. YUMMY!! The kiddies enjoy their mini cheeseburgers. We all enjoy our dinner and dessert. John has cheesecake, Ben has the banana split, Karen, Mom and myself have the brownie sundae and the kids have sherbert. We talk about another trip next year, hopefully we can meet up with them then. And also a trip home to Maine, stopping in Biddeford to go to dinner with our new friends.

John and family head off to the P&PP for the evening, and we head to the Studios. We decide to monorail to Epcot first. We spot another RedSox fan. A young girl from NY with a razor phone with a pink Boston RedSox skin, a pink hat, and many other things as well as a Boston Red Sox trading pin featuring Mickey. I had to have one. So we looked at every possible pin stand in Epcot. NOPE! When we ask, we get, "I'm sorry, they are sold out." What, sold out? I couldn't believe it. I have NEVER heard those words at WDW before. This was a first for me. I had to keep looking.

We hop on the boat to the studios. We got stuck inside the boat as the back had a couple scooters. So as soon as that cleared out, we headed out to stand. It was so hot inside, you couldn't breath. We got our EMH bracelets and stood in line for TGMR. It stated at 60 minute wait. I didn't really want too, but DH said c'mon. So I did. I'm glad. We only waited 15 minutes. I told the CM at the end of the line their sign was wrong, but it was a pleasant surprise. Then off to the muppet show. I could see it again and again. I just love it. We decide to catch the last viewing of Fantasmic. Thinking it will be less busy......uhuh, right. WRONG!! We stood in line for about 10 minutes and then were let in to a huge standing room only area. It was still 20 minutes to show time. We managed to secure a couple of seats that were "made" for us and people squeezed together. It was very nice of them. It was a great show. I have never sat so high in the theater. We usually do the dining package, so the priority seating gives us a close to the front view. This time we were 2 rows from the top. We give up on the rest of the EMH and head back to our resort. We shower and hit the sack at 1230.

Next up.....can we get into O'Hana?? And, it is our last day:fit::sad:

Hey! That's me in those photos! Hi Kristen (and Ben too)! We had a great little meet. It was so great to meet everyone - too bad your friend couldn't make it. I wish I had known you were looking for that pin. I saw them I think in the MK jewelry shop on MS. I'm glad your computer is up and running again. I'm looking forward to the the rest of your report.
