DH - Ben - 42 - Fell in love with WDW on his very first trip, hence, he bought into DVC for my wedding present!! Thanks Ben.
Me - Kristen - 36 - Been in love with all things Disney since I was a little girl!!
August 11-16, 2007, Just the two of us for a bit of rest and relaxation......yeah right!
The blasted alarm, "Kiljoy" spoiling peoples dreams! 0630 came WAY to quickly, but we have ressies at Boma this morning for 0820. Did I mention I hate alarm clocks?:alarm:Anyhoo......
We walk to the bus stop, which btw, is only a very short walk from our room. We bussed to MK, as it was morning EMH, and then to AKL. When we pulled in to MK, there was a bus for AKL just waiting there for us. How perfect!! We had the bus to ourselves. We got off the bus and walked around a bit looking at the interesting artifacts (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2300580470042804337OuzGDE) on the walls and taking lots (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2944206370042804337sEJYSG) of pix (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2356860300042804337oNJQoI)of the lobby (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2579532760042804337GGaKzo). We headed down the stairs (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2804508810042804337CYtNOL) to BOMA for our breakfast. We are seated almost immediately. Our table is right in front of the carved meat station and my DH was mesmerized by watching the fire pit cooking the meats. The buffet (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2378442440042804337eRSOtv) was fabulous. The ladies who seated us brought us a card (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2189139730042804337TmZLGY) for our anniversary. (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2476917740042804337laYUgW) After we stuffed ourselves, Robert brought us another surprise (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2131559400042804337YCbSjR)!! Nothing like cookies and truffles for breakfast!!
We walked over to the DVC counter to see if they had a preview here, they do not. The only preview is at SSR. We were offered to walk down to see the construction, but there are no animals to view until mid September. They needed to protect the animals from all the noise.
We walked through the gift shop and out the door to the bus stop. We were heading for MGM. Amazingly, the first bus was for the studios. Upon entering the studios, we went right to Sounds Dangerous with Drew Carey. After, we walked to IJ and got FP for the 1130 show. It was extremely hot already, so water was the next thing on our "to-do" list. We walked over to Star Tours, DH went through the line with me, but took the "motion sickness" exit, going straight through the ride as they boarded us. Fun as usual. Some day, maybe Rex will learn how to drive?!? Walked back around to the hat and caught HSM pep rally. By now the water is just dripping off us and we walked over to see if they were seating for IJ. They were, so we went in 35 minutes early. Great show as usual. Gotta love it. After, we walked to Muppets and saw the "key under the mat". Waited in line for 15 minutes for the back stage tour, hoping to get wet at catastrophy canyon. Did a little, but the girl on the far left got soaked and so did her video camera, even though I warned her. Had to get liquid refreshment again. The walkway going toward the new toy story ride was closed so you have to walk back around the other way. Went through One Mans Dream (awesome show, makes me cry). We walked the Streets of America where they are already getting ready for christmas (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2238589360042804337JhydaB) by putting up the lights (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2750122700042804337yLxtqL). Did the Disney Animation, shopping again on Sunset Blvd and Pin trading - looking for a Boston Red Sox Mickey Pin. I have been looking since we saw one on another guest earlier during our trip. Stopped for chocolate covered strawberries, again, and again were given chocolate covered marshmallows dipped in jimmies (sprinkles). Went through the singles line on RNRC. Then decided it was time to head for Epcot. We sat on the back of the boat as it is just too hot inside of the boat. No air!
We stopped on our way into Epcot to take a picture of something I never knew about that has been going on for 2 years. All of the parks sell an umbrella stroller (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2014965910042804337ghMbgR). What a bright idea. For $40 you can buy one and use it the whole time you are there and can either bring it home with you, or leave it for another guest. When you figure in the $10/day it costs to rent a hard plastic stroller, you would have saved more money and your child can be comfy.
We headed right for the Seas with Nemo, wandered around, saw Turtle Talk with Crush, the manatees, and watched the dolphins swimming around. We headed for the door. SCREECH!!!! Everything came to a halt. It was raining sooo hard, you couldn't see out the door other than the lightning that was flying around. It was approaching the 30 minutes before our ressies, so I had Ben get us ponchos ($14 for two), I took off my socks, and we walked to the UK. It had stopped raining by the time we got there and we checked in for our 740pm dinner. I asked for and understood there are no guarentees for a patio table. We were seated at a table for two right on the patio railing. Great view of the lagoon (http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2065736280042804337pIZAdv). Check out pages 16-24 (http://travel.webshots.com/album/560331789VnKtcn?start=180) for illuminations photos. We had a post right in front of our table, so I sat my camera there and it made like a tripod for me. I was able to get some great shots!! We both enjoyed the steak and fish dinner, the potato leek soup was so YUMMYY!!! Ben had apple crumble and I had chocolate trifle for dessert. We walked "around the world", got EMH bracelets, went to Mexico looking for Donald again, bought a neat Donald tshirt for Ben and decided we needed to go to sleep. Hopped on the bus back to OKW, got there at midnight, took a quick shower and then zonked.
Next up.......MK, Mini intercot meet, and more fun with a podcaster!
