At the AKL can you only see the savannah from the rooms or is there somewhere else you can view it from?

No, there is a viewing area. If you visit AKL, you will be able to see the savannah.

There are many different areas all over the resort from which you can view the savannas. You can go outside to the Arusha rock overlook, or you can go to any of the overlooks. There are a few on the second floor which have rocking chairs and binoculars you can use.

there are some areas to watch the animals from the pool patio area and there are windows in the halls. We paid for a Savannah view, did not get the best of the Savannah views and honestly spent so little time in our room I would not do it again. As we walked to and from our rooms we tended to see animals from the hall windows and then gawk and gaze from there. We loved exploring the beautiful patio by the pool and finding little hidden viewing areas. Generally when we were in our room we headed straight to bed! If you spend more time in your room or on your patio you may enjoy the Savannha view room, but we would save our money and buy those expensive cocktails by the pool instead! I do LOVE the AKL.
