First day of school!

My twins start first grade today! Yeah! They are really looking forward to seeing their friends again, should be a fun year.

We have a school system where each grade has it's own school, so last year the school was like 200 5 year olds all in the same place. Wild, but really awesome, it's fun volunteering there because they are all so sweet and cute.

When does everyone else's school year start? I believe we are just about the earliest in the nation.

Wow. You are really early. I bet your children get out early as well. My oldest is in preschool, and she starts Sept. 5th. The elementary schools around us start Aug. 29th.

School goes back on the Tuesday after Labour Day here. My kids are both looking forward to it.

School here started last Monday, 8/6. We are on a 10 month calendar and the kids get a week out of school every 6 weeks. It works out good for our September vacation!

Thursday, 9 Aug was our first day. No week off every six weeks, and we get out the last week of May. We get out for Christmas the Friday before. Our school year keeps getting longer and longer.

My daughter will be a senior this year. 1st day of school here is Sept 4th. At the High School , freshmen start on the 4th, everyone else start on the 5th.

WOW! Do you have a lot of in-service days? We don't have any here, but where I used to live they got every other friday off.

My boys start on September 4th. We go until the 2nd week of June.

My boy's start Sept 5th. We get back from Disney Sept 4th (at 11PM)! Yikes. :shrug: I booked it thinking they started on Sept 6th. OOPS

Elementary School starts Aug 29th, my kids are older so they start Aug. 30th. School gets out June 9 (as long as there are not any snow days).

When does everyone else's school year start? I believe we are just about the earliest in the nation.

I started Aug. 1, but I'm a teacher. Our students arrived on Aug. 6, and we get out the middle of May. Of course, we have a week in the fall, two at Christmas, and another week in the Spring, not to mention monthly holidays.

From day out to day in, we had 10 weeks out for summer. Not long enough, IMHO! But then again, I taught Summer School for 4 of those.

My boys have really been at each other the past couple of weeks. I think they are tired of being around each other. They are ready to go back and I am ready for them to.

We start back on September 5th and usually end around the 27th of June. Whatever that last Friday is.

My DD is starting Pre K on the 5th too. She is nervous and excited. She will turn 4 on 10/10 so she is one of the younger ones in the class. I am going to miss her...even though it is only three hours a day.

My kids go back to school on Sept. 5. DS#2 will be a senior and DS#3 will be a sophomore. DD will be in 5th grade which is at the middle school (that makes me nervous). DS#1 leaves Saturday with DH for the long drive back to Univ of Kentucky. Classes for him start August 24 -- he's a sophomore.

We don't go back to school until September 5th - then we go until June 25th!! But, tomorrow is the day Conor has been looking forward to - that's when the post cards come out letting you know what teacher you have for next year!! :D

The kids start school & I go back to work on August 28. The Preschoolers on my bus route start September 10.

My two started July 18th! I love year round school! Actually, DD (1st grade) started on July 18th. DS (Kindergarten) didn't start until July 20th. They split start Kindergarten here so 1/3 went the first day, then the second third and so on. DS doesn't turn 5 until mid-September so he is one of the youngest but he's doing great!

My daughter started 1st grade yesterday and she gets out May 22nd. Its not too bad of a time to start and finished.
