another I95 to Orlando ???

We are traveling from 95 in Philadelphia to Disney World. I have trip tiks and map quest. My question is I have heard that there is a shortcut instead of going all the way down I4. I think it is Rt. 417. Where would you pick it up?? I can't seem to get printed directions showing that way. Also, is it worth it?? We are arriving early on a Sunday morning. Thanks for your help.

I've heard you can pick it up in Sanford.

The northern end of FL 417 is near Sanford, at exit 101 of I-4. I don't think that you would need to take that loop on a Sunday morning, 417 would add about 20 miles to your ride and I don't think that traffic conditions would require you to miss Orlando.

I'd take it no matter what time you're coming through. I-4 in Orlando is slow on a good day, a parking lot on a bad day.

hi pluto my family usually leaves levittown at 12:00 - 1:00 am ,we drive to savannah exit off i-95 ,we lay over and get up early sunday morning. the last 3 times we drove on i-4 early sunday morning it was crowded ,sometimes a parking lot ! we are also going to use 417 on our next trip. i have not yet looked at any maps, but i also heard it starts in sanford. this is also a toll road , but i don't know how much. have a great trip!!!

Hi Goofyfan4466. Somebody close to home. We have been stuck on I4 at the 4:00-5:00pm hour and it was not fun. I was hoping to make it to Jacksonville this time and then be on 95 by 7:00am on a Sunday. I will have to look for 417 off of I95 by Sanford. Hope it is well marked. I sure have plenty of time to find the info. :mickey:

First, FL417 is off of I-4 in Sanford not I-95, I-95 does not go to Sanford.

FL417 is exit 101 off of I-4 in Sanford. It is a toll road, but I'm not sure how much.

Another option from the north is to stay on I-95 to exit 212 (FL407) which will take you to the Bee Line (or Beach Line (or FL528)). Take that to exit 16, which is FL417 and head south to WDW.

Looking at the map it looks to be a LITTLE longer on I-95 but, you avoid Orlando both ways.
