I can't ask multiple questions in a poll anymore, so I've split this into two parts.

Today, I'd like to ask about your first visit to Disney World. This first part asks what year you first visited and the second part asks how old you were.

Here's the link to part 2 of this question, which asks how old you were when you first visited:
Year of 100 Questions: #100, part 2 (http://www.intercot.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=111632)

Look for the review of Questions 91-100 next week. I'll post a link to it here (Vacation Planning) and in Theme Parks. I think I'm also going to post a quick summary and have you post how many of the 100 (actually 102) questions you agreed with the majority...also probably next week.

1984 was my first year when I was three. My parents actually told me that I cried after the third day and wanted to come home... What was I thinking!!!!

1998 was the year of my first WDW trip. It was my honeymoon! I had such a great time that we were back a mere 18 months later in 1999. :mickey:

1981. There was only the MK and it was fabulous. I couldn't have imagined anything better. I didn't get back until 1990 for my Disney honeymoon, my husband's first trip, and then I knew that it did get even better.

1997 was my first trip, when I was 14. It was our first major family vacation not at a beach house and we stayed at the then Disney Institute. I was such a moody 14 year old, I didn't want to be seen with the family, and I was afraid of the fast rides. I spent a lot of time being moody and walking around by myself. Only to find myself obsessed when I returned and wishing I could go back and do everything I missed!

We didnt have a chance (or the money) to go until I was 16 in '03. It was me and mom and we hit EPCOT the first day (get outta jet lag lol) and me and mom just walked around drop jawed at all of it. We both stood and watched that fountain in EPCOT that does the music and jumps around, and were so moved by how awesome it was that whole trip we were just amazed. Now we've gone back once more in Oct then going again for my 21st birthday in Jan!

Honestly I don’t remember. I grew up in Tampa so my family was blessed with the ability to drive over at least twice a year. Since I’ve had so many little day trips, they all run together. I actually envy those people that didn’t go until later in their life and have a distinct feeling and understanding and many memories of their first trip. If I had to guess, I was probably about 4 and that would make it 1984.

I know it was the early 80's. I had to be between 10 -12. I don't remember not 1 thing about that trip. Only what I've seen in pictures. It was my mother, my sister and I and it was our only family vacation!

DH and I spent 2 days for our honeymoon at Epcot and Animal Kingdom in 2004 then last year we took the kids for 7 days. In 4 days, DH and I will be celebrating our wedding aniversary with a 7 day stay @ WDW. NO KIDS!!! :woohoo:

Christmas Day, 1971. The first WDW Christmas, and one of the most memorable days of my life. I was hooked for life that day, after experiencing that first look down Main Street. Aww darn, I'm starting to get misty eyed.....:mickey:

1999 for me. I come from a big family of 9 kids so my parents could not afford to bring us on vacations. So as soon as I could afford to take my kids I started going every other year or so.:mickey:

Tough to visit before I was born,, but I was there with my Mom and Dad soon after. I was even :crying: at :mickey: for rubbing my Mom's belly when she was pregnant for my sister, but I was about 1 year old and it's been almost 30 years, so I'm over it now.:grouphug:

oh my goodness, #100 already?? :( I've really enjoyed these posts, thank you so much for taking the time to post/manage them, King Triton!

Anyway, my first visit was just after Christmas, 1987. I don't remember much of it ( I was 11, but I got sick pretty much the first day), but I found a parking receipt in an old scrapbook not too long ago--$3 for parking in EPCOT! Times have changed, huh?

Here we go again...

1975 - I won a trip to WDW at the age of 16. Back then there was only the MK and not many places to stay. We were booked into the Royal Plaza with the outside elevator and all. Boy have times changes, but the Royal Plaza and that elevator are still around
