Has anyone read that if you take the dining plan you can use it for more counter service and not sit down every day. I used it last time I was at Disney and felt tied down to the park for the day I made reservations a month early. I read that Disney tried a test program, but never heard of an out come.

There is no standard procedure for this

*however*

One would loose money purchasing the Dining Plan and mostly dining at Counter Service locations ....

If you don't intend to eat one table service meal each day, the plan is not a good choice.

I vaguely recall that guests could trade one table service for a counter service, snack and/or a pin or something. This was in Sept during the free dining promotion when guests were having a difficult time getting TS ADRs.

As Figment stated, it's not a cost effective way to use the DDP.
