View Full Version : Lots of food with concierge service?

We're thinking about booking a trip at either Poly or GF with the concierge service in early spring. We figured we'd do a package with the dining plan, but it looks as if there's a lot of food included at the concierge level. Does it make more sense to skip the dining plan and just pay for our meals on our own?

It depends on how much time you plan on spending at the resort. Both the GF and Poly offer along the lines of a deluxe continental breakfast usually from 7am - 10:30am. That can consist of yogurt, cold cereal, sometimes freshly made oatmeal, fruit, bagels, croissants and muffins. From 11am - 4pm, at the Poly, it's mainly bowls of snack food. From 11am - 1:30pm at the GF, it's snack items and from 2pm - 4pm, they also have an afternoon tea with scones, maybe trifle, assorted cookies and brownies. From 5pm - 7pm it's cheese & crackers, vegetables and usually 2 hot appetizer dishes.

The food is really not setup to be a meal replacement plan, but unless you enjoy a hot egg breakfast in the morning, you can definitely start your day in the club lounge. The rest of the day depends on your park touring style and how much time you're going to be spending at the resort itself.
