July 19, 1942 – Character actor & Disney voice star Sterling Halloway enlisted in the U.S. Army.
July 19, 1948 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “The Purloined Pup” was released.
July 19, 1950 – Disney’s live-action film “Treasure Island,” was the 1st film shot without any animation, and the 1st to be shot in England, was released.
July 19, 1950 – Disney’s True-Life Adventure film “Beaver Valley” was released.
July 19, 1990 – Disney’s syndicated TV special “The Jungle Book Reunion” was released.
July 19, 1999 – “Walt Disney’s Carolwood Barn” had its official dedication at Griffith Park in Los Angeles, Ca. Disney family, fans, railroaders, and local government officials attended the event. (Walt’s miniature backyard railroad on Carolwood Drive had 2,615 feet of track)
July 19, 2002 – The Walt Disney Co. signed a letter of intent with the city of Shanghai to build its 3rd Asian theme park.
July 19, 2002 – The Lizzie McGuire episode “Best Dressed for Much Less” aired on the Disney Channel.
July 19, 2005 – Disney’s “Ice Princess” was released in video stores.
July 19, 2005 – A tragedy was averted when famed sports agent Drew Rosenhaus performed life-saving CPR on a 3-year-old at WDW. After being pulled from the kiddie pool at the Grand Floridian, the young child from Chicago was revived by Rosenhaus. (Who was in town for a function at the ESPN Club.)
