View Full Version : Worst artist/song replacement for RnRC

This is just for pure fun folks. I saw a similar thread on another website that had me laughing out loud at what some folks came up with.

Here is the deal....Surely at some point Aerosmith will be replaced by another group/artist and the ride will have new song/songs.

What do you really, REALLY hope that they DON'T replace it with.

My top 5

Journey--Open Arms

Glen Campbell--Rhinestone Cowboy

New Kids on the Block--Hanging Tough

Right said Fred--I'm to Sexy

Barry Manilow--Copacabana

Have fun :mickey:

I like the Lawrence Welk idea, especially the one anna two launch. Perhaps the Lennon Sisters would serenade you during the ride, or that Irish tenor guy.

Britney- Whoops :ack:  I did it again

I was listening to Willie's "On the Road Again" today (MP3 on my cell phone) and it made me remember this thread. I could almost feel RRC rolling me around to this music. :trio: :coaster:

So I got to thinking about Willie and the Lawrence Welk "a 1 anna 2" idea and thought, hey- Disney could give RRC 5 or 10 possible "themes" and maybe you wouldn't know which one it would be until it was "too late". You know, vary it car by car.

Another possibility would be to have separate lines for the different themes- so you might find the standby line for the Beatles version is 90 minutes, but you can just walk on the New Kids' one any time... oh oh oh OH oh. :rotfl:

Well, I would say anything that is played on pop music radio today would make me claw at my ears until they are just bleeding holes.

Oh, anything related to American Idol. I can just imagine seeing Simon, Paula and that other guy (see? I don't watch this show) in the video presentation preshow... then we all get on the ride and are subjected to pathetic singers, singing pathetic songs hoping for their 15 minutes of fame. However, I guess William Huang or Sanjaya would be ok.

I like the William Shatner idea. I read somewhere (never heard it) that he did a "wonderful" rendition of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Much as I enjoyed the man in the original Star Trek TV show and movies, I get tired of seeing him on all the travel ads. It would be about right for him to show up on RRC.

Has anyone else here ever heard the Henhouse Five version of In the Mood? ...with the clucking chickens? ...or the flip side (1977 novelty record by Ray Stevens) Classical Cluck? :ack:

To continue my idea of multiple choice RRC music, perhaps each car could vote for the music in the car behind them. Think of the people hot footing it out the exit trying to get down Sunset Blvd before the folks in the next car can catch them. :D

Big Hairy Monster

Some bad ideas?
"Close To The Edge" by Yes...all 25 minutes of it. Yikes!
"Dead Man's Curve" by Jan & Dean
"Dragula" - Rob Zombie
"Valley Girl" by Frank Zappa
...or the worst possible choice:
"Several Species Of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together In A Cave Grooving With A Pict" by Pink Floyd (betcha haven't heard that one!)

I could think of some tunes that I would like to see it rethemed as:

"Drive My Car" - The Beatles
"Red Barchetta" - Rush
"Highway Star" - Deep Purple
and the ever popular "Magma Coaster" based on the French progressive rock band. Think John Coltrane meets Richard Wagner meets Funkadelic, with operatic vocals sung in the Klingon language...I am so there! :rocker:

...of course, they could always exchange the stretch limo ride vehicles for pirate ships and have Styx perform "Come Sail Away".

Nope, bad idea. :ack:

Continuing with Disney's love of songs that get stuck in your head, the most agonizingly boring song of this type that I remember hearing is "Captain of her Heart" by Double. If you haven't ever heard it before, don't listen to it. Seriously, don't. :stop:
