Howdy! I love the interior of the famous castle, and the art shop inside is one of my favourite places. Every year we've been, its a highlight to us. But last year we went in November for a week, and it was all boarded up! :( I checked Info Central a lot before it, and I dont recall any news posted about it (I might be wrong!). I didnt check this site until recently (I was too sad that I was thinking I wasnt going to WDW for a while, but alas tis not true!) so I dont know when it reopened. Does anyone remember what this was closed for? And has it definitely been open this year so far? We hope it is because we love it :)

Thanks

I had read something to the effect that the small store was closing, and something else was going in its place.

I can't remember what is going in there, but someone on there might...

Figment!

The King’s Gallery shop, inside Cinderella Castle, was scheduled to close July 5, 2007 in order to make way for a 2nd Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Location.

That's sad :( . I'm not little or a girl unfortunately, so the Boutique is unvisitable for me. Fits in with the castle though, so that aint so bad. Thanks :)

I think that last November it was one of 2 things. First, the castle was being repainted and the gold overlay was being removed last Nov - Dec. There was a crane doing this work and the area where the crane was located was boarded off with the famous green walls. Second, if there is a show on the stage in front of the castle, the interior hallway is gated off so you can't get through. The castle was open when we were there the first week of December. I'm sorry that you missed it! From what I hear, only the entrance to the store inside the castle is blocked off so you should be able to see it this year. BTW, BBB does big Princesses too - you're never too old! My girls went in Dec and one of the stylists said she had done a Grandma just a few days before - she was celebrating her 80th birthday.

Actually, BBB is for boys as well. Okay, so it's all pink and girly, but boys can get their hair done, too. I've heard of people bringing their DS in and they spike up their hair, put hair paint in it, etc.

Can I stop by and look in the boutique? I have never been in anything inside the castle.

As long as it's open by the time your trip rolls around, they should let you peek inside and pick up a brochure showing the hairstyles.

I think it was a mistake for them to make that change. BBB is for girls and boys, but there is no way I would spend money for a boy to have nails, hair done just to put on a pirate hat. For girls, it is the dreams of being a Princess. They should have left the original store and put BBB back somewhere in Fantasyland.

I agree, I don't think this was a good move. I loved that store, it was somewhere to go and shop where you were surrounded by the trinket trash that is in all the other stores.

You could get serious stuff in that store. We always spent significant time in there...

{Get soapbox from closet. Step onto box. Insert foot into mouth.}

1) I, personally HATE the idea of BBB in the Castle.
2) They is no stopping adults from spending on their kids.
3) Even to those ludicrous extents.
4) But, even commercialism has its bounds.
5) There are LOTS of other places it could have been located.
6) WDW has several boarded-up locations that can be filled.
7) Why spoil the fantasy of the Castle?

{Reclaim foot. Step down. Put box back into closet}
