Magic Kingdom
So, I used the wake up call option and got Stitch. I got a clear "No Sleepy" from him and a "sorry" from Mickey Mouse, but then the call just went out, so I have no idea what exactly he said.
We got onto the bus and got to Disney just as the characters arrived on the train. This was my first time to watch the Magic Kingdom open, so I had to fight some tears as I realized I was finally there and the Magic was around. Thanks to being a Disney website reader, I knew to go left at the park instead of all the right handed people. (Woo left handers!) So, we got on Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Splash Mtn., and Thunder Mountain with no lines. Mandy is obsessed with Capt. Jack Sparrow, so she was on pins and needles to see him, but no luck. I was excited for Jungle Cruise, as that is my dream job. (Hey...where else can you be sarcastic with jokes and make a fool of yourself!?) I already knew (from here!) that HM was being refurbed, so I educated the family about it and what was going on. Small World was closed for the morning, so we had to stand in line for the first time for Space Mountain, which broken down while we were in line and I was upset because I wasn't on it while the lights were on. :( It soon began again and that was the "favorite ride" of the family. (I don't have a favorite ride. Disney World is my favorite ride!) Buzz was also a favorite, and thanks to you guys, I scored over 400,000 points! Being "in the know" has its perks! We then ate at Cosmic Ray's (my favorite eatery, a tradition) and then headed back to ride It's A Small World. Didn't this get a refurb a few years ago? We then went to find Jack Sparrow (CAPTAIN, I mean) and after a lost cause again, we headed toward Main Street and waited for the parade. My family was protesting this a bit, but of course, it was "my trip," so I said we needed to stay. It started pouring down rain five minutes before it came to Main Street, but we waited. Mandy got some attention from some pirates due to her...assets, if you get my drift. She was recording the parade, and one pirate decided to talk to her and pose for a picture. She's technologically challenged, so she ended up with no picture, since he had to go, but I got some great shots of him! :D
I loved the parade, and had memories of when I danced with Goofy in 2001, since they reincorporated the same float. I got great shots of the characters too.
By the time the parade was over, thunder and lightning decide to put on a show. Mandy is afraid of lightning, so she was dancing in place going "We need to go, we need to go!" She ran for the bus line, when the clouds opened and BAM. Pouring rain. We got on the bus just as a huge BAM of lightning hit nearby, causing Mandy to scream a long with children while I laughed like Cruella De Vil. (Also a possible job for me  ) Since it was a usual rain, I was enjoying it, but everyone else was thinking no more Disney. The trip back to the 50's was a bit longer due to the flooding, so I took the opportunity to educate some random passengers on the procedures of Disney World in cases of storms. We got back to the hotel, and Mandy ran for the room. We stayed until 7:30, when the rain had finally stopped long enough for us to get back to Magic Kingdom.
By this time, it was 8:15, and we decided to ride Space Mtn., then get ready for the Spectromagic Parade. This is by far my favorite thing at Disney. The music, the lights, and the excitement on people's faces makes me cry everytime. I noticed, however, that the Wolf (from the Three Pigs float) was drifting away from the route towards a CM and realized he was ill, for he was soon escorted via Main Street exit, and another CM was updating one of Cinderella's pals of the problem. We then stood for Wishes, which made my whole family ooh and ahh. We had wristbands for the Extra Magic Hours, and re-rode Splash, Thunder, Pirates, and Jungle Cruise once again. Jungle Cruise was a little odd, however. It seemed we went a lot faster (?) and the boat tilted really really bad a lot. Also, a funny note, while in line, I was telling family about the whole "Retiring Skipper" traditions, and during the ride, we caught a CM near an antalope with a flashlight! Obviously they were inspecting, but it was just funny! We went through some shops at Main Street and called it a day. The ride home was quiet, since everyone was dead tired as it was 1 A.M. I was just overjoyed and speechless the entire trip, and needless to say, I slept through the Kraken and other noises during the night.
July 7th
We had the express checkout, so all we did was wake up and pack. We took pics of the 80's and 90's buildings and headed out back to Alabama. I got some pics of the Legendary years also. All in all, I had a great time, but I am afraid the Disney Magic just doesn't jive well with the parents. I'm glad to say that won't stop me from returning again. Perhaps next summer you might catch a Jungle skipper from Alabama who enjoys her job a little too much. :secret:
