Just curious, what is the latest you can cancel an ADR? For example, you are running behind and realize you won't be able to make your reservation time, can you cancel the same day? Thanks in advance!

Obviously the earlier the better, especially if you have had to give a credit card guarantee....however, if you are running late, they will hold your ressies for fifteen minutes past your time. After that, they just let it go, no penalty if there is no credit card. But, yes, you can cancel the same day.

There is a list in the middle of the page at this LINK (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/pss.asp). It lists the places that require notice for cancellation. For everything else, just give as much notice as possible, no biggie.

Well, unless it's stated that there is a certain amount of notice required, there is no time frame for cancellations. In fact, you really don't have to cancel at all BUT it is good etiquette to cancel so someone else can have your timeslot if you aren't going to make it. Even cancelling at the time your ADR is due would be thoughtful in case a walk-up is waiting to be seated.
