The approximate total price the Disney companies paid for the land used for WDW was $5 million dollars. Using a number of dummy corporations so as not to tip off land owners that it was Disney purchasing the property, Disney was able to purchase more than 27,000 acres at a sum of $5,018,770, which works out to less than $200 per acre.
