With the lines at DL for the new sub ride so long. I was wondering what was the longest anyone has waited in line for a ride.

From what I remember...Splash Mountain, 2.5 hours. This was in either '97 or '99..before the creation of fastpasses.

ToT comes in a close second - probably 2 hours or a bit more.

LOOOVE THOSE FAST PASSES! :thumbsup::cloud9:

2-1/2 hours for space mountain back when EPCOT first opened. UGGHHH. I was in 7th grade though and thought it was the coolest thing on earth so I guess it was OK...

I was at Epcot on June 10th and the wait for Soarin was posted at 120 Minutes! Needless to say, I didn't wait in the line! I have been to Disney over 25 times and that is the first time I had ever seen anything over 90 minutes.

You will not believe this but it would have been Dumbo... Our first trip and first day , DS was 2 1/2 and really wanted to ride Dumbo. We simply did not know any better.... We finally made it on after about two hours :-o We left the park soon after that and went back to the hotel and relaxed, went swimming :D Since that day, we have always taken an afternoon break. :number1:

2 1/2 hours for test track. When we finally made it to the turn stile, the ride broke down.

This may sound nuts - but I waited for 4 hrs when test track first opened! It was our last day there & my brother & I really wanted to ride so we waited it out.

The very first time I went to WDW as an adult was back in April of 1996. That's April as in EASTER!

It was mobbed. We waited 3 hours or more for multiple rides, both at WDW and at Universal Studios. I distinctly remember waiting 3 hours to ride E.T. and being ready to punch the little bugger in the nose by the time I got to the end.

I resolved then and there that I'd never go back during a busy time like that. It totally ruined the experience. In an entire 14 hour day you'd get on like 5 rides. It STUNK!

The longest we've ever actually waited was the first time for M:S - no FPs left for the day and we waited for about 1.5 hours. Otherwise, we do not wait in long lines.

The longest and most torturous wait I can remember (I may have had longer waits, but this is the one that stands out in my mind) was 1 1/2 hours for Mr. Toad's Wild Ride... with that song playing OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER... AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN...

I don't remember the song now, but at the time, it was grating after hearing it for the 100th time, not to mention the 20th. I seem to remember part of it going something like "merilly, merilly, merilly..."... 1 1/2 hour wait for a 1 1/2 min ride. Nuts!

My DH waited 4 1/2 hours for Indiana Jones Ride at DLR. During this time there was no such thing as FP. It was when the park first opened. They said, at the time, the ride was worth the wait.

The longest I had to wait in line was 3 1/2 hours for a ride. Again, at DLR before FP.

WOOOHOOO!! This is my 600th post.

Anyway, there is a picture on webshots that shows the Maelstrom at 190 minutes!

I waited 90 for Splash on my first trip. Won't wait that long again.
Gotta love those fastpasses.

2 weeks ago, 90 minutes for Kilimanjaro Safaris. I was so mad that they ran out of fastpasses by 2 o'clock when we got there!!!

Just over 90 mins pre-fastpass. In the summer when it was crowded and hot. Recently, it was around 70 mins for soarin' when we couldn't get a FP. MY most recent trip was in oct and we didn't wait longer than 15 mins for anything- never again will I go in the summer.

About 45-60 min for Soarin when it first opened. Always fast pass it now!

I think 90 min for Peter Pan with a posted wait time of 20 min. The same day...over an hour for Space Mountain...in the FP line.

That would be "Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Eternal Line" :D

BTW - Dinosaur is the exact same ride with different theming . . .

The posted time said 90 minutes for Soarin and we went for it. We already had FPs for Test Track and we figured we would have time. We did- the line took about 50 minutes after all. But I have seen the Soarin' expected waits much higher back in '05 when it was new.

I'm happy to say I've never waited an hour for anything at Walt Disney World. Sure, it has caused me to miss some of my favorites like Splash this last trip because I refused to wait in a 75 minute line.

I did wait around 30-45 minutes for Pirates last year a few weeks after it reopened.

The longest I've ever waited, however, was around 50 minutes for Test Track...in the Fast Pass line because it broke down. So, yeah, longest Fast Pass ever.

Big mistake by me....
1 hour and a half waiting in line for Roger Rabbit's Cartoon Spin at Disneyland. And the ride wasn't even that great.

I had to truely think about this question but its a tie we waited 90 mins for Soarin in Dec 05 and last Oct we waited 90 mins or a little more for Jungle Cruise! I am glad we waited on both but those are the only lines I have ever encountered with a long wait, most seem to go so fast and have so much to look at while you wait.

Christmas 2005:santa:, the week between Christmas and New Years, aka Chaos in the Parks at WDW. Me, my husband, and my then 9 month old waited almost 3 hours for Safari Ride in AK.

I totally know what you mean. When we rode it in 1999, the lineup was WAAAY out the door, WAAAY past the stores outside the building...it took foreeeeeever! I forgot about this one until you reminded me.

I luckily diddnt have to wait in this line :secret:

At the MK during Night of Joy we rode Space Mountain Early in the night. About 2 hours later the line extended all the way outside of the ride, circled around the TTR, went over to Buzz, and then stopped at COP. I AM NOT KIDDING!!!! LOL!!:funny:

I think the line turned out to be about 3.5 to 4 hours long. I swear! lol I have never seen Space Mountain so crowded!

Pre-Fast Pass: more than 2 hours for Splash Mountain in July 1997. To make it worse, we were behind a large school group - about 75 kids (teenagers) all in a group. Thank goodness that was pre-cell phone days too, or they all would have been texting etc. and really making me crazy! That was my first trip to WDW - had been to DL several times where the lines are always long, so I thought that was the way it always was.

Fast Forward to Fast Pass and going in off peak times! Post FP we've probably waited no longer than 30 minutes - and I think that was Buzz.
