I hate to be the one to bring this up but I was wondering if any of you have had any trouble with bed bugs at your Disney resort. Particularly Wilderness Lodge?

Never have stayed at Wilderness Lodge but POP didn't and neither did AS Music.

Stayed in WL, POP, POFQ, AS, Poly, CS, etc. and never experienced any problems with bedbugs. In fact, on all of our trips, we have been pleased with the cleanliness of our rooms. I am quite picky about hotel rooms - especially the bathrooms and have not had any problems in any of the resorts we've stayed in.

we've stayed at BCV, AKL and ASM and have never had any problems....I looked for signs of them and have never seen any in any of the rooms where we stayed.
If there were any, I would imaging you would be moved immediately and the problem addressed.

We stayed at the WL in October 2006 and everything was okay then. I'm sure you will be fine!

I have stayed at the CR, Poly, and Dixie Landings and we never had a problem.

Ok why do I feel itchy all of a sudden?

We've stayed numerous times at various Disney World resorts (Wilderness Lodge just one year ago) and have never had problems with beds bugs or similar pests.

Was this just because you were curious? Or have you had a problem?

We stayed at POR and never had any problems with bugs. Saw a snake slither across the walkway going to the bus stop.

Speaking of bugs, I never had any problem with bed bugs but we were there in May and DH got bit by something. We never found out what it was but it left huge red marks on his legs. He went to the first aid stations in the parks but they had no idea what could have bit him. Does anyone have any thoughts on what could have caused the bites?

I was a little nervous to read this as we will be staying at WL in February. I'm glad to see no one has had any problems with bed bugs. We have never had any problems with bugs or the cleanliness of any of the DW resorts we have stayed.

We stayed at the WL in December 2006 and we had no (believe me I checked) problems with bed bugs. The only thing that could have been a little cleaner was the balconies at the WL...lots of spider webs on the balcony especially towards the ceiling area...it needed a good spray down! But no worries the room was clean and free of bugs!

I ahve not had an issue at Disney but I thought this would be the place to ask if there have been problems. My worst fear is taking some home.

Possibly Spiders? Spiders can leave nasty welts where they bite. Maybe he disturbed a nest or something. Thankfully it wasn't a brown-recluse.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what could have caused the bites? It could have some biting flies or gnats that caused the welts. A lot of those type of insects tend to swarm around the lower legs and if it were gnats your husband might not even have realized he was being bit. Some people tend to be more sensitive to these type of bites and have more pronounced reactions.
