We are staying at Caribbean Beach, but have never really gone to "visit" the other resorts. I would like to go to the Boardwalk one day while we are at Epcot. What exactly is there to do there? Also, how often do the boats come to take you back to Epcot?

I have not been there during the day, but there is a lot going on at night! There are several restaurants and nightclubs. In the evening, there are street performers and you can rent the surrey bikes. There are several unique shops that you can't find anywhere else on the property. You can also walk over to the Yacht and Beach Clubs and to the Swan and the Dolphin. It is definately worth a look.

The boats run around 10 minutes or so. But if there is not one at the dock when you walk out the international gateway from epcot just walk. At most it is a 7 minute walk.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn several times. Sometimes there will be entertainment (magician, jugglers, comedians, etc....) going on on the Boardwalk but more often, especially during the day, there isn't much going on.

If you have a lot of extra time it's worth a visit.

The Boardwalk is a very nice place to visit. Be aware that night time entertainment doesn't begin until after 6 PM.

In the evenings, there are different entertainers - jugglers, magicians, that type of thing. Lots of family friendly fun.

On the Boardwalk, there are several dining/drinking options. There is a small area with carnival type games. The ESPN club carries all sporting events. Go to the Atlantic Dance Hall or Jellyrolls for decent night time entertainment.

Boats to and from EPCOT can range from 10-20 minutes depending on when you're travelling and the time of day. To get to EPCOT, it's much closer to walk (head in the direction of ESPN and you're almost at the International Gateway.).

Even during the day, you can check out the different resorts-the Swan & Dolphin, Yacht & Beach Club and the Boardwalk resort itself. And there are some interesting stores/galleries at the Boardwalk. You could always rent one of the bikes. And you can walk there or take the boat. They run frequently. And at night you can see the fireworks from Illuminations. And you could go to Beaches & Cream for ice cream.

If you take the time to go INSIDE the Resort there are all kinds of really interesting photos, and memorabilia from that time area all throughout the main building. You can spend a little bit of time in the main lobby looking around and down the hall to the left (as you come in from the boat side). I love to go "tour" the Resorts. It's a great way to spend some "down" time.

As a matter of fact, the only reasons to take the boat to Epcot is either because you like the boat ride, or if you have dificulty walking. DW and I have left the Boardwalk at about the same time as the boat left the dock and we got to the gate before anyone on the boat. It's a nice walk also.
