Epcot WS hours in December

I think I read on this site about special extended hours at Epcot World Showcase during December. Does anyone know if this is a yearly occurance during the Christmas holiday season? It would be great to have more time to explore "Holidays around the World!"

WS is open another 30 mins til 9:30 on most days in Dec. instead of 9. If that's what you mean by extended hours. That is a little later and doesn't include NYE or EMH...

I think I read it was open at 9 every morning, separate from EMH. Any truth to this, or am I imagining it? (Entirely possible!)

Except in the case of EMH days, the hours for Epcot in December are: Future World is open 9a - 7p daily which is the same as the rest of the year and World Showcase is open from 11a - 9:30p, 1/2 later than the rest of the year, and Illuminations is at 9:30p. What the extra 1/2 hr is supposed to do for us, I have no idea!

It closes at 9:30 late November & December because of the Candlelight Processional. The last showing of the Processional is at 8:30. Therefore Illuminations runs at 9:30.

To answer the OP's question; the hours are extended at the end of the month to accommodate the huge crowds. It's not uncommon for various parks to reach capacity by mid morning.

The hours can be found here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/calendar/parkhours.asp#December_Park_Hours). World Showcase opens at 10 instead of 11 during the week of Christmas and at 8:30 on New Year's Eve.

All of the parks open earlier that week.
