DH and I just decided yesterday morning that we are going back over Thanksgiving! Yipee!! I just landed a new job and we wanted to wait until I did to make plans.

So! It's under 180 days and I had to jump on the ADR's. I quickly threw together some plans and here's what I came up with...

Oh, I should preface this with saying that DH and I both had Gastric Bypass Surgery and we eat very differently than we've eaten in the past so I skipped all buffets because we don't get anything out of them anymore : ) I decided to go more high-class and split entrees. It's nice because we will be eating at some restaurants for the first time this trip.

Therefore we aren't using the DDP this time and we will be eating a lot of CS - thank god they have some good places!

11/22 (Thanksgiving day) Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch (I will miss chip and dale though!!)
11/23 Rose & Crown about 45 minutes prior to fireworks - yeah!
11/25 Coral Reef for Lunch (NEW for us)
11/26 Cali Grill (1/2 hr prior to fireworks!) NEW for us and I've always wanted to eat there!
11/27 JIKO for dinner and we'd like to do the dining tour they offer at AKL that day as well. This is also NEW for us - we LOVE BOMA though.

I might add in Le Cellier because no trip is complete without it - we'll see.:cloud9:

What do you think and if you have any input about what's good on the menu at the new places, please let us know! We can't eat very much anymore so it is very important to us that what we do have is very good and tasty!

Thanks!

We've been quite a few times over Thanksgiving! It's a nice way to spend the vacation (and focus on friends and family, and NOT the turkey and trimmings).

One thing you might want to consider is to have an appetizer as your main meal, or share an entree. That said, here's what we've enjoyed at a few of the restaurants you've listed:

Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch : good choice going for lunch because dinner will be extremely crowded. I had the "The Sandwich Heard Around the World" and did NOT like it. I do think, however, that their crab cakes are the best at WDW (and come with a nice little salad). Click here for the lunch menu (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/menus/magickingdom/libertylunch.asp)
Rose & Crown — the Stewed Mushroom appetizer (in cream sauce in puff pastry) is very good, but also very rich. Even without gbs, it just about fills me up. I was pleased to see our last visit there (last November) that the vegetables were fresh and not overcooked.
Coral Reef — my "must do" at Coral Reef is the lobster bisque. Again, quite rich. Next time we go, we'll go for lunch which means, unfortunately, missing the ahi tuna with wasabi mashed potatoes. (Current menu: click here (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/menus/epcot/chefsdefrancedinner.asp))
Cali Grill — others rave about the flatbread pizzas and the sushi, but when I think Cali Grill, I think four words: "Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli." For their menu, clickhere (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/menus/resorts/calgrilldinner.asp)
JIKO — never been but sure do hope to go in October. Here's their menu (http://www.intercot.com/infocentral/dining/menus/resorts/jiko.asp)

Enjoy your trip and congratulations on your quest for a healthier lifestyle. I always try to pick out what I'm eating before hand when I can see a menu because it provides me with a way to have a game plan in hand.

Thanks for the info Ellen! I was wondering about the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli...

The mushroom appetizer is a good idea at R&C and I love Crab Cakes so I might try them too.

Oh, and I did add lunch at Le Cellier (I like their PEI mussels) for the last day! Couldn't resist...
