Now I know these don't very often(at least not for me), but there has been some very bad ones before. Now it could either be the actual ride or because of the people you were riding with.i want to know them all.

mine has to be the HM. i went on one time and the expanding room wasn't working!!!!!!i was with a first time rider.the audio was working so she got very confused. we had to go on again so she could see what happens.it was a good thing
it was working that time.:mickey:

Being in the front row on Dinosaur with my parents back in 05. I used to love that ride but being in the front row changed that drastically. It seemed like we sat forever with the dinos trying to eat us. I don't even go on it anymore.

My worst ride experience was when I was 7 we went on the Alien Encounter(now stitches great escape) and I was scared out of my mind when you are little everything seems so real. My little brother who was about 5 was terrified and in the middle of the ride he wiggled out of the restraint on his seat and ran torwards the door trying to get out nd was screaming at my dad to get us out of here. When the ride was over my dad had to explain to us how that wasn't real!! Back then it was my worst ridse experience now it is actually kind of funny

Worst ride experience was last trip. My brother and I were on HM. They must have been having problems elsewhere because we were moving incredibly slowly through the seance scene. One particular group in front of us kept taking flash pictures, which was so annoying and wrecked the HM experience. It was fine for us, since we've ridden HM millions of times, and many more times that trip. But it was still so rude!!

Mine has to be Alien Encounter...I didn't know what to expect and if I hadn't been belted in, I would have made a run for it! I thought it was going to be a ride that goes around and around.

I'm glad that it has been revamped.

Mine was COP 2 years ago. The air was not working and hello this was July...the soundtrack seemed to be off as it did not quite match to the movement and worst of all we had some teens who thought it would be fun to make a lot of noise and be VERY disrespectful of others. They were opening the back doors as well and no CM was around so really nothing anyone could do. Someone did tell them to be quiet and thus received the F**k you reply. I love COP so it was hard to see this great ride in such shape and for my kids to see this display from these horrible teens.:mad:

I aboslutely have to agree with this. I was horrified in that ride. I don't think I have ever been that scared in my whole life! It was truly frightening. But, it's gone now...thank goodness!!

Aside from nasty people making ride experiences miserable my worst experience was on Alien Encounters. The seat restraints didn't stop at my shoulders and pushed me halfway out of the seat. Very painful.

On Primeval Whirl, the safety bar lowered too low for my husband and me to sit comfortably, though it was just right for our kids between us. Not only could we not really breathe on the ride, but the turns were extremely uncomfortable and one of the sharper curves took my husband by surprise and it wrenched him around a little. By the time we exited, he realized the ride had hurt his back and he could barely walk for a few hours afterward. We'll never go on it again.

Mine was on Star Tours at MGM. A little boy behind us went unconscious during the ride and it seemed to take forever for the ride to be opened up! The little boy was still breathing, though. I think everyone felt so helpless in that situation. To this day I don't know what became of him...hope he's OK! :(

My worst experience was two years ago on TT. I would never get on because I'm not good with rides like that. I felt bad making my GF go on by herself so I decided to "man up." I mean how bad can it be? It just drops you, raises you up, drops you, etc. Well let's just say that I'm surprised that she doesn't still have bruises on her thigh from how hard I squeezed it in fear.

Same here. I absouletly LOVE thrill rides. However, that one was just crazy and I felt sick for probably an hour. Maybe it's because it was early morning (I'm a total night owl) and I hadn't eaten yet. I'm going to venture again in September.

On our trip last october, PotC was having lots of issues. We went on it twice, and both times we were stuck for ~30 min at the beginning of the town scene (first Captin Jack appearence). Everything was horribly backed up.

I think it was getting stuck in UOE. We all loaded into the cars and proceeded into the first dino room. Then everything stopped and we sat. Then finally the lights went on and killed the cool atmosphere. Then we sat. For like 15 minutes. Then they started SLOWLY moving the cars backwards into their normal starting position. Overall, it took like 1/2 hour! Drove me crazy.

I also don't like space mountain with the lights on - that happened once too.

When we were on the boat in the Land and our CM guide fell asleep at the begnning and woke up when we were pulling up at the end. This was before it was all automated voice. DH and I made up the vocals to it. At the end the CM woke up and said I had a tough night last night. We just looked at each other and said I guess so.

I will never go on this one again. At least, I'll never go on the wild version again. I figured if the 5/6 year old boy who was assigned to our simulator could handle the ride multiple times (as he excitedly announced to us that this was his 4th ride and it was sooooooooo fun), I should be able to handle it once. Mistake on my part- I was totally looking for a panic button in the simulator well before the ride was over.

I am another mission spacer loser I could not handle this ride did not feel good afterward. I though I was going to loose it while on the ride and I think the person besides thought that also because they kept looking at like I was going to be sick on them!!!! in the end it was funny but once was enough for me. I may try the tame version at some point but will have to wait and see for now.

For me, it was Astro Orbiter.....I am petrified of heights, spinning doesn't bother me. But I guess the combination of the two:sick:. Not a good one. It is THE only ride I refuse to do.

For my DD16, her first AE at 8 years old, she was so scared that she almost broke my arm. She had a death grip on my wrist and was screaming her head off. She never did it again and still won't go on Stitch. Maybe someday.

Normally I love Rock n Roller Coaster (or any coaster) but let me tell you this....

If you have gas pain, do not go on this ride!!

The added g-force made me feel like my intestines would explode. I did not even remember the hills and loops and scenery, all I remember through the entire ride is excruciating pain and trying not to scream and cry and wreck the fun for my daughter.

Felt ok when I got off though.

Many years ago we were riding the cable car that used to cross the park at MK and it stalled. They brought aerial ladders to get us down and our children were 7 and 9 at the time and scared because the cars were swinging as we left to climb down the ladder. I was a little frightened myself. I don't even know why they don't have these in the park anymore.

Goodness...maybe i was a wierd kid. I absolutley adored AE as a tike and i wish they wouldnt have taken it out! but hey, i cant get what i want ALL the time :[

And i have 2 bad ones that really stand out.

one being when i rode SGE for the first (and last) time. My shoulders were sunburnt so the restraints that were pushing me down into my seat, were unbelievably uncomfortable. And on top of that, i smelled chilli dog for the rest of the day and it made me want to :ack:.

and on dinosaur when me and my friend ended up on the floor of our car because it scared the begesus out of us ... and it still does.:(

In 2004, while riding SSE & "returning to earth", some moron further up the sphere decided to get out of his ride vehicle. :shake: The ride stopped for about 10 minutes while CM's & security found this idiot & escorted him out, with me halfway down "reclining" all the time. VERY uncomfortable in those cars. Hope they tossed that guy in the fountain.:thedolls:

Last year on RNR. We were in the 4th seat from the front. I was riding with my DS and my DD was in the seat behind us with our cousin. I was on the right hand side and after we went through the first inversion I felt a cold wind on my right side. I looked and here there was a door on this car and it was open and flapping. I braced myself and clung onto the shoulder harness with every ounce of strength that I had for the remainder of what seemed the longest ride I had ever been on. When we pulled into the station a castmember asked if it just opened. When I told him what happened they removed the limo from the ride and what did we do. We went ride back on....We had to we had Fast Passes!!!

It has to be the TMR. When my daughter was young she went on this ride with her father and when they went around the first turn she slid under the bar. My husband had to hold on to her the whole ride. For years she could not get near it. We learned that day even though they are tall enough you still need to hold on to them.

This happened to me too, so Spaceship Earth is worst for me. Was on the way back down, backwards, in the dark tunnel part when the ride stopped/got stuck--for about 20 minutes. Being claustrophic, I totally freaked out and almost jumped out--my hubby didn't know what to do. I don't ride this one anymore. :(

One time my family got stuck on Primeval Whirl for about five minutes--right before we made the climb to the top of the track. This is nothing, EXCEPT when you add in the fact that "Hector and Lestor" were telling us every 20 seconds to stay seated while the ride gets fixed. Most annoying thing I have faced at Disney.

I once had a rough time on Space Mountain. We had just had a huge breakfast minutes before and I went running onto the ride like it was nothing. While riding, my stomach started to flip-flop and I did the worst thing I probably could have - I closed my eyes! This totally threw off my equilibrium. I got off the ride so :dizzy: that I had to recover by doing only the dark rides for about an hour.

My mom and I had the worst ride experience about 8 years ago. We were suppose to meet my brother and dad in 15 minutes- so we decided to kill some time by going on IASW. This was a huge mistake. We got to the final scene- where all the dolls are in white. We noticed that there was a huge back-up of boats- we figured they were just loading a wheelchair. Well we sat and waited for about 10 minutes- then a pre-recorded voice came on say to stay in our seats...Well to make a long story short we were stuck on the ride for over an hour. Cast members kept walking by us- but they did not evalcuate (don't know why). Anyway we sat there and had to listen to "It's a Small World" for that amount of time.:ack: They finally did get us off- by pulling out boat to an exit door in the "Hawii" scene.
Never-the- less Small World is no longer a favorite.

My worst ride experience was Body Wars (I think that's the name) at Epcot. It was my first trip to Disney and I just followed the group and rode every ride. I had no idea it was a simulator, I guess I assumed it was a "show" ride like Ellen's or other shows at Epcot. First, I always avoided simulators because I can be claustrophobic. Well, I didn't realize how  the movements made me, on top of the claustrophoia. Never again. I was unsteady the rest of the afternoon.
No Star Wars, no Alien Encounter, for me. At the end of Buzz (in the tunnel with the lights going around you to make you feel like you are traveling fast) - I have to close my eyes or I'm very green.

My wife and I went to WDW with her family, it was there 1st time ever. Well we went to ride Test Track and while waiting in the queue after the video the ride broke down but started back up pretty quick. Then once we were on the ride it broke down 5 different times. Not a great 1st impression for her family.

That's pretty bad to fall asleep during the tour of the land. I've never had a really bad experience. Just normal ride stops for short times. It is always bad when you wait in a long line, and as soon as you are about to get on the ride, it breaks down.

Alien Encounter. I didn't even remember the ride until a friend asked if we rode it. ALL the scary images came running back & I remember now why I didn't want to remember it.

My wife an I were at EPCOT a few years ago eating lunch. And we got the bright idea of going to ride Mission Space next. We both held our lunches down, but we were so dizzy and light headed that we stumbled on to Ellen's Energy Adventure. I fell asleep first, and my wife told me that over half the car was asleep before she zonked out. We woke up near the end totally unaware of what had just happened. We felt a lot better after our naps, but feel a little silly because we slept on a Disney ride.
Later on that day, we were waiting in line for Test Track and it broke down. We grabbed fast passes for it and went to do other things. We got back and it broke down again. After about 4 hours of breaking down and coming back, it finally opened again. We ran into the line only to hear it start to rain outside. The CM's told us that they shut the ride down if it rains. Well we made it on to the ride. As we do the barrier test, we hear a huge clap of thunder as we are met with pouring down rain at 68 mph! We had welts on our faces until mid way through the next day. I love Test Track, but that time was really bad.

While difficult to come up with a really bad experience, the worst we had was being stuck on PotC. Our boat stopped close to the beginning of the ride, so for nearly half an hour we heard "...dead men tell no tales..." over and over again! A CM actually had to don waders, get in the water and push our boat back to where we could step off!

On the positive side, we were given go-to-the-front-of -the-line passes to be used on one ride each - and then got to ride SM and Buzz since CM didn't collect the passes first time through!

We got stuck on Buzz Lightyear for over an HOUR in the room that is black and makes you feel like your spinning before they finally let us walk off. They did give us 3 fast passes each though to use on whatever ride we wanted!

We had basically the same experience on that ride! I was not anchored down properly, and everytime we went around a curve, I had to hang onto the bars to just stay in the car. Even my partner was hanging onto me so that I didn't fly away! My lower back was severly bruised for several days after!:( Never again!!!!

Ours was COP, adults behind us singing loudly in another language and some rude Man talking on his cel phone through the whole ride. I think they need to made sure a CM rides through this whole ride to make sure guests behave.

I will never forget my two...though, after the fact, they have turned into great memories.

First, in 94, on my senior trip, we got stuck on SSE, right at the end....and this was when "Tomorrow's Child" still played there. We were stuck for...45 minutes. They never turned the music off. Never.

Then, in 97, I went down with a bunch of college friends for spring Break...while we were eating at Liberty Tree (for my Birthday), a CM caught a fancy for one of the girls in our group. He said he'd hold a spot for us for the parade in an hour. So we headed to IASW, thinking we could ride a bunch of things before the parade. Oops. Right under the giant elephant, next to the Monkey Chain...we stopped. For 45 minutes (quite the magic number for me). They shut off the soundtrack after about 15 minutes (mercifully). Someone started the wave. Someone else started the "We got spirit" cheer. Eventually, the CMs in dumwaders came and pushed our boat to an exit. As we exited IASW from the back, we passed by the CM smoking area...and a bunch of CMs were smoking....very strange to see.

Great thread! I think we've been really lucky for the most part - not to say we've never gotten stuck but it's not been as bad as some of you!

We've gotten stuck on SE one time - first at the Egyptian hieroglyphics for 10 min, then the Guttenburg press for 10 min, at the spot where the phone switchboard/50's tvs are and later in the section where you start to go backwards - the entire ride seemed like it took forever with all those stops!

Also have gotten stuck (but it was brief) at TT once.

We also seen malfunctions on the HoP (the curtain never opened but the audio was on - CMs made everyone leave so they could recycle it) and the COP - audio not synced to the characters.

Other than physically getting sick, the one malfunction I would dread the most is getting stuck on IASW - the song would drive you crazy! :paranoid:

I don't have any experiences that I'd call terrible, but I have had issues with other guests on rides.

On our last trip, my gf and I went to ride BTMRR at the end of the day. Somehow, we ended up on a train full of high school kids who were on a class trip. The ENTIRE ride, these teenage boys who thought they were so fun screamed obsceneties as loud as they could through the entire ride. It was so obnoxious.

I had that happen on IASW during some school night - and I had 3 kids with me. I told them to watch their language and they didn't take it very well. They really need chaperones.

Back in 78 when there was only the MK and I was a teenager i was riding It's a Small World and the ride stopped. Not just a short stop, but for at least 15 minutes. While those dolls and song are cute for a short trip through the ride they get old REAL FAST when you are not moving and have to look at the same dolls and that song over and over and over again. To this day my skin crawls anytime I here that song. I have since returned to the Kingdom multiple time sand for the sake of the family I rode it again. I kept holding my breath hoping that it would not stop until the end.:paranoid:

For me, it was on RnR... I was so excited about the ride... loved the queue... screamed my way through the ride, but liked it... until the car stopped!! Then, all at once, I felt awful....... I had to very slowly get out of the car, walk slowly around the gift shop for about 5-10 minutes until the nausea went away. I was SO disappointed.... not the ride's fault, probably just me getting old... ... but I had really been psyched to ride it, and now I'm scared to try again!! :(

Mine was Alien Encounter also. The shoulder thing that comes down on top felt like it was pushing me, so I kept sliding down in my seat and it would readjust and crush down harder. I ended up sitting through the whole show crushed down in my seat with my back and shoulders seriously hurting. I couldn't get out and I couldn't readjust.

I still love the ride though :secret:;)

I actually just wrote this post under the "how does baby swap work" thread....

"One word of warning... And boy, did this go right up my backside... When you ride Sorin' they want to see the baby at the ride entrance, which is INSIDE The Land pavilion. Strollers are not allowed INSIDE The Land... my baby was asleep in said stroller...

DH went inside with the kids to the ride and were turned away for the baby swap because they needed to see the baby. He came out, and told me what was going on, so I went to the CM at the door and explained the situation, showed him my daughter sleeping in her carriage and asked if he could call down to the ride and give my husband the "all clear". "No, you'll have to wake your daughter, and bring her inside."

Now, normally, I would have told the kids we would go on the ride later, but I was so peeved by the attitude of this lazy CM that I did, in fact wake my sleeping daughter, and brought her inside screaming her bloody head off! When I emerged I sat right next to him glaring, so that he could enjoy the crying that went on for the next 45 minutes!

It would have taken a second of this CM's time, and it would have made all the difference in our day... This was the only bad experience I have EVER had at Disney."

Kilamanjaro Safairis. My first time riding a few weeks ago. It was in the middle of the day and we saw nothing but Elephants, an ostrich, and giraffes in the distance. We had to wait in the standby line for an hour and a half because there were no fastpasses left. During the wait, my daughter got antsy and fell out of her stroller. By the time we made it to the ride, both of my girls were asleep and I could not wake them up, so they missed it all anyway. I had such high hopes because of all of the cool pictures and wonderful experiences I've read about. Next time I will try to go earlier in the morning.

Not so much a ride but experience. Drew Carey's Sounds Dangerous. Not horrendous for the first time but bad enough that we never went back. Definately not a repeat experience for us!

I wish AE had stayed open a little longer, cause i never got to ride it! I was too young to go, and then, when i finally got old enough, it was replaced :(

Astro Orbiter!

I got motion sickness so bad, that we had to leave the MK. My wife and kids laughed at me at first, but then they were very unhappy when they realized that our entire day was shot.

If you've never been on the Astro Orbiter, I would say that it is "Dumbo X 10." Don't even think about it if you are prone to motion sickness (like me).

Honestly-there aren't many that I can recall. However I can always pull one out to relay. Last July, we were on The Great Movie Ride. It was hot (duh, its July, right?) and late in the afternoon. We were seated a couple that decided to rest their arms over the back of the seating. The odor was horrific. We did not know whether to laugh or cry!:mickey:

There was one CM at The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh a couple years ago that peeved me. A friend and I got FPs before going to dinner, and rushed back to make it in time for our window. Let's say it was 6:45-7:45. Well, we got there at 7:40 and presented our FPs to the CM standing at the entrance. She looked at them, looked at the clock and said "wait 5 minutes". We tried to explain to her that we were within our time window but all she said was "you need to wait". So we stood there for 5 mins after we had rushed thru dessert and practically ran to the ride (this was before we knew they accepted FPs after your time passed). It wasn't even as if it was crowded or anything...we were the only ones in the FP line when we got there. Apparantly 6:45-7:45 means exactly 6:45 or exactly 7:45.

Another bad experience was Body Wars when I was 9. I had to shut my eyes the whole time and thought I was going to .

My worst experience was on Star Tours. I get majorly  on spinning rides and simulators. Well last time I went to MGM, I decided I was not going to be a party-pooper so I bravely went on. I was :dizzy: and white as a :ghost: coming off. So now I avoid the teacups and M:S and Star Tours. I know I am missing out but i don't like feeling :ill: while at WDW.

Our worst ever ride experience had to be in '05. We waited forever to get on Pirates, with a bunch of cheerleader-types right behind us in line (it echoed like crazy in the cavernous hallways). When it was finally time to board our boat, the 2 of us were placed with a mom, a couple of her older children, and what looked to be a 7-8 yr old boy. Now, he started crying and screaming and didn't want to ride (he was scared and didn't want to ride...I'm totally on his side). They literally picked him up kicking and screaming and placed him in the boat with us. He pretty much frieked out the whole ride and ruined it for us.

I don't blame him at all. I blame his ridiculas mother. Why would you make someone ride something they don't want to ride? Especially at the expense of everyone in the boat. I've never seen such idiotic parents as I have in DW. Parents please! Get it together! And yes, other people do hear you screaming at your kids, hitting them, and its ignorant and disgusting! Don't ruin it for everyone else.

We rode SSE in 2001 and the ride stopped for 20 - 30 minutes, but we were happy because we were at the top where you see Earth and the music was playing. We had several other stops on the part where the seat rotates backwards and you're going down too. But I wouldn't call it a bad exerience like others. It was our second day of the trip and we were just thrilled to be back again another year!

"Later on that day, we were waiting in line for Test Track and it broke down."

Why is it Test Track breaks down so often? This happens to us every trip!:car:

We had taken a trip to WDW about a year after TT opened, It was the first time we were ther after its construction. One morning we went to EPCOT with plans to spend the morning there. We had other plans for the afternoon. We got to EPCOT not too long after opening, and went directly to TT for a FastPass. The FP return time was already something like 2:00PM, which was a little longer than we planned to stay, but because it was new, we said "what the heck". We returned at 2:00 and were told that the FP wait was over an hour! It seemed that they had problems in the morning and the lines had all gotten backed up. We left the park and never got back to EPCOT that entire trip.

One evening after having dinner at the Mexico resturant in Epcot, my family and I decide to take the nice quiet little boat ride that is there next to the resturant and tells about Mexico. We were seated in the front row and a group of teens were all seated behind us. The teens were quite loud and rocking the boat quite a bit, but we just ignored it. But then they started trying to splash each other and of course we were splashed as well. My DH turned and nicely asked them to stop splashing as we didn't want to get wet. They listened for all of 30 seconds before begining to splash one another and us again. My DH then lost his temper, turned around pointing at them and yelled at them to stop or they would have to deal with him. My DH is a big guy and can be very intimidating, but he would never have actually done anything. It made me mad that they would be so inconsiderate, but we shook it off and just tried to forget about it.
