Day two of our pirate adventure began with a breakfast buffet at CR in the convention centre. This was followed by chances to make your bids on the silent auction and choose which items you wished to bid on at the live auction that evening. There were more seminars and autograph sessions. Lee Arenberg, who played the pirate Pintel in the movie series, was there all week with us and was the most accommodating and friendly person I have ever met. He greeted everyone with his booming, gravel-voiced, “’Ello Poppet!”, and even began signing autographs with that greeting. All the kids just loved that guy! We decided to go to Animal Kingdom instead.

In the afternoon we returned to CR for some of the pirate games to increase our booty. We played a few games of skill, such as deck quoits, dunk tank, etc. to earn extra trading pins, stickers, intant tattoos and New Orleans-style beads without having to do what you normally have to do to get Mardi Gras beads! Then we had to get ready for dinner again.

Dinner tonight was a buffet-style and was absolutely delicious. More pirate-types had dinner with us. After dinner, they announced the winners of the silent auction and got ready for the live auction. The live auction was started by a performing artist who drew, live on-stage, an incredible Pirate Mickey on a boat with sword drawn. I think it sold at the auction for about $5000. Wish I could do something like that.

Having no interest in the auction, some of our table mates went to MK for some rides and fun. We just wandered around the grounds to kill time. We still had about 5 hours to go before we could go to bed.

At about 10:30 pm they began loading us onto the buses for the trip to AMC Theatres on the West Side of Pleasure Island for the movie. While standing in line at the theatre, we were entertained by some pirate wenches, pirates and a couple members of Davy Jones’ crew – shells on face and all. Really cool.

Of course the film was the highlight of the entire experience. We loved it, but need to see it again – and again. No spoilers here. Go see it! Then we were given presents again as we left the theatre.

Lee Arenberg was supposed to be on a Disney Cruise with his young family on Opening Day, but felt so strongly about staying with this wild bunch of people, he postponed his trip and stayed at the theatre to watch the film with us. He also introduced the film, again with his trademark “’Ello Poppet!”

Three hours later, we filed out of the theatre and back onto the buses to our calling beds and a couple hours of sleep.
