Mar. 4, 1943 – Disney’s “Der Fuehrer’s Face” won an Oscar at the 15th Academy Awards.
Mar. 4, 1949 – Disney’s Pluto cartoon “Pluto’s Surprise Package” was released.
Mar. 4, 1954 – Actress Catherine O’Hara, the voice of Tina in the 2005 animated feature “Chicken Little,” was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She also supplied the voice of Sally for the 1993 “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” (Movie fans would recognize her from Lemony Snicket’s A series of Unfortunate Events, A Mighty Wind, and Home Alone.)
Mar. 4, 1956 – Walt Disney appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show. Walt presents a Look Magazine Award to actor Fess Parker for his Davy Crockett role.
Mar. 4, 1960 – The Walt Disney Presents TV show aired episode 12 of “Texas John Slaughter: Geronimo’s Revenge.”
Mar. 4, 1962 – The Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color aired “Carnival Time” on NBC-TV.
Mar. 4, 1973 – Disney’s TV show “Chester, Yesterday’s Horse” aired.
Mar. 4, 1979 – The Wonderful World of Disney aired the 2-hour “Never A Dull Moment.”
Mar. 4, 1987 – Disney’s TV series “Harry” began airing. (Ended Mar. 25, 1987)
Mar. 4, 1989 – The Disney Channel’s TV series “Chip’n’Dale’s Rescue Rangers” began airing. (Ended Sept. 3, 1993)
