Today's question involves a transportation choice. You're at the Transportation and Ticket Center and you're going to the Magic Kingdom. Do you:
- Take the monorail or
- Take the ferry

Give that some thought and vote. Look for question #11 (likely) tomorrow in Accommodations...

I would take the monorail. It seems to get you there faster. The only time I took any of the ferry's was when we were staying at the CR.

Where else in the world can you take a monorail ride? I had to go with it. I remember too many vague memories of that Ferry taking so long to get you there. While you are riding, you can see that monorail whip right in and you are only half-way across the lake.

I voted for the monorail, because that's what we take the most. However, sometimes we'll take the ferry just to change things up a bit. Also if we're leaving when the park closes it's easier to get on the ferry than to wait for the monorail.

That was fast!!!
Was this poll only open for an hour?

Oops, ignore this post. Apparently you need to be logged in to vote.

The ferry may be more efficient, but we take the monorail. Hearing the fun spiel and enjoying the neat views from the cars make up for any lost time. The monorail is part of the Disney experience.

I took the water ferry from WL on my very first MK visit, but despite that nostalgic moment, there's nothing better than the monorail. I love the narration you hear while riding it, and even get excited during the safety warnings and instructions to move in and make room for those boarding...:crowd:

We take the Monorail to MK and the Ferry leaving MK.

I usually take both on any WDW vacation, so I could have voted for either on the poll. I like the monorail, it is fast, so it is always a must. I also enjoy riding across the water pass the Contemporary and Grand Floridian, and watching the castle grow bigger as I get closer. :mickey:

I also hopped on the monorail bandwagon. I think my very earliest memory of visiting Disney World back in 1973 (?) was riding the monorail thru the Contemporary.

Upon entering the TTC area, I will eyeball the lines and see whats happening with the ferry. If the ferry is currently loading, sometimes I'll do that, but I always try to get at least one monorail ride in every visit.

We always take the ferry TO MK and the monorail back at the end of the day so we really do both!!

I take the monorail into MK and at night when the park closes, I like to take the ferry.

In my opinion, the monorail is simply faster, and I'm dying to get there.

I love both. I voted Monorail b/c that's what we do most often. But while the Monorail is certainly very Disney, for me, the Ferry is decidedly Disney WORLD. It was how I got the MK from TTC on my first ever visit. How can you beat nostalgia!

another monorail vote here!!

This was tough for me. I went with monorail because that's the one that I use the most, however the first time I go from TTC to the Magic Kingdom each trip I always take the ferry. I don't know if it's nostalgia or what, but there's something about that view as you're ride across the water slowly getting closer and closer to that castle :mickey: Just makes me feel all Disney inside.

Definitely in the minority here. I love taking the ferry over. Standing on deck watching the MK coming closer and closer and all the goings on around. The other boats on the lake, the monorails, looking over at the hotels. It adds to the excitement.

I love the monorail; it just screams Disney. Living near the coast, we've been on ferries so much that it's not anything unique to ride for us.

I'd take the monorail. It gets you there faster and I am always in a hurry to get to MK (ha!ha!). The monorail is just so neat. There's many places you can ride a ferry.:mickey:

Well you can take a monorail from Newark-Liberty Int'l Airport to the Newark Airport train station and back, but that's not a lot of fun and is besides the point. Monorail wins here due to its speed, convenience, and the fact that its just fun. Besides, who doesn't enjoy the occasionally witty and informative narration that plays? If I had a dollar for every kid I've heard try to mimic the "please stand clear of the doors" in spanish, I'd have quite a bit of money on hand.

I always do monorail there, ferry back. Theres more space on the ferry for both more people and some breathing room, all them sweaty people in one little compartment... always kind of a turn off for me :mickey:

Plus, on the ferry it's open air so you get some airflow and there's usually some more open seats for my tired feet!

Though I voted monorail, we have a standing tradition that we always take the Fairy over the first time in unless we have used a WDW bus.

Please stand clear of the doors,

por favor...................etc.

I even have a 12 minutes speil form the monorail on my laptop. This way, I can always get a "fix" of Disney when I need it.

I like experiencing the view from the Ferry Boat. Polynesian Village on the Port side, Contemporary Resort to Starboard and the CASTLE straight ahead. A great view both arriving and departing the MAGIC KINGDOM. Seven Seas Lagoon requires no sea sick medicine!

I love taking the monorail but I must admit that at least once during a visit I love to take the ferry too. Being up front on the ferry and watching the Castle getting closer and closer is very exciting. Although leaving by Ferry is very sad, watching the castle getting further and further away!:crying:

I'm taking the monorail. I've always had a fascination with the monorail that I can't even really describe especially when you get to ride in the nose. I have fond memories of my siblings an I with our finger on our nose hoping the cast member would see us and let us ride.

Taking the ferry is the most magical way to go. As you cross and can see the castle getting closer and closer, then you hear the train whistle, nothing beats that :number1:. IMHO it's the best way to first see the MK
