Well, Im on my way to planning my Boys Trip in June to WDW (my DSs are 8 & 10). :mickey:

I have a couple of questions that I hope you guys/gals can help me with.

First of all, i heard that the transportation at FW isn't so great, Going from the cabin to an internal bus and then to a park bus or boat. I read it can be a mile walk  , is this true? I was thinking of renting a jeep for our 5 night stay, has anyone used these jeeps and how far in advance do I need to rent one?

Also, The usual question of, what loop or cabin number would be the best to request?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Nathan

1) You can rent golf carts on-site or off-site, and a VERY good idea.
2) Renting a jeep does not help you.
3) Cars (and jeeps) are limited where they can go.
4) They, also, is no car parking in many areas.
. . . only 1-car parked at any campsite or cabin
. . . no convenient parking near Pioneer Hall
. . . no convenient parking near most stores
. . . no convenient parking for internal buses

5) So, forget about renting a jeep

I think you are thinking of the golf carts when you mentioned jeeps.

The golf carts are a great way to get around Fort Wilderness. Rather than taking a bus from your cabin loop to another bus stop, you can drive directly to the bus stop (or boat dock). It's very convenient, as well as fun to just drive around to explore the campground.

If you have a golf cart, then all the cabin loops are pretty much the same. The 2100 and 2200 loops are closer to the Meadow Trading post if you wanted to walk there.

I was at the cabins just last month. You will have a great time!
