Hi everyone.
So I'm getting mixed messages about what you can get by using MJ or AAA to make reservations.
From what I'm reading, it looks like MJ can make Disney reservations directly and then apply discounts from Disney (if they come) to your vacation when they come out, for either rooms or packages. They can use AAA to get room only discounts but not packages. You have to book directly through AAA to get the AAA MYW package discounts. Correct?
The issue I'm having now is deciding which is going to be a better deal. The questions:
Do I just go with MJ and hope that Disney comes out with a package discount for the time we are going? Historically (the past two years), Disney did have a public package discount but that's no guarentee that will happen again this year (although I'd bet they do). But if they don't and we book through MJ, we might not be able to get as good of a discount as we would booking through AAA for a package. I would think that a package is a better idea as we want to do the DDP as well, but if we book through MJ and the package discount from Disney doesn't happen, we might not save as much money as if we had gone through AAA.
:help:
OK, I'm rambling, but I'm stuck as to what is going to save us the most money. I think what would help me is knowing what the historical discounts have been. The Info section states there have been discounts, but doesn't say what they were. Does anyone know? Does anyone have any advice? Are the Disney package discounts historically better than the AAA ones? Also, if I book through AAA and get the AAA Diamond Club Card and can save 10% at DTD, doesn't that make it a better deal? Is that card still available? If Disney comes out with a better rate, will AAA apply it to my vacation and let me know if it's a better deal if I provide it to them? (I know they won't do it automatically.)
I have so many questions about this but I could use some guidance. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
