DH has expressed an interest in eating at the Chef's Table at Victoria and Albert's. I know that its hard to get reservations and is going to be expensive. I was wondering if anyone knows how far in advance I will need to get reservations? Also, if anyone can give me an idea of cost. The WDW website says $90 per person, but it doesn't mention the Chef's Table. Lastly, would it be appropriate for a child? He'll be 4 yrs old during our next trip.

My wife and I went two years ago. With the wine pairing I think it came to around $ 450.00 with the tip, or pretty close to it. The only thing I did not like was that it took over 3 hours to eat. I think there were 9 different courses, very small portions, but by the time to eat all of them, you are full. It was a truly unique experience but I don' think I would do it again. The table is in the kitchen itself and we had two other couples with us. It was a very elegant evening to say the least. I hope this helps.

It takes 3 hours to eat at a regular table as well. If you call 407 wdw dine, you press 1 for V&A and they connect you directly to the restaurant and they will happpily answer your questions.

Reservations can be made 180 days out. They only seat one group per night. If your group is 2 people, you have the table to yourselves. I can't remember how much it cost but it was probably close to $400 with the wine pairings.

I don't think this would be appropriate for a 4 year old. We did it for our 10th anniversary and I couldn't see our son being happy with having to sit for 3 hours. If you need to leave for the restroom, they escort you out of the kitchen. I felt it was a meal to be truly enjoyed and not be distracted by having to find the next video game or book, etc. The chef is also stopping by your table explaining your meal and how it's prepared, I know when DS was 4 he would have been bored out of his mind.

IMHO, I think this is the one of the times when "adults only" is appropriate.

I definitely think we will be waiting for our first trip as Empty- nesters. There is no way DS will want to do that. Thanks for the Info, though. I look forward to giving it a shot in 15 years LOL

Per the "Great Hotels" episode that was just on this weekend, reservations for the chefs table should be made 6 months out. However, I'm sure that this doesn't apply all the time.

I also believe that the entire restaurant is 18 and over, and it definitely would not be appropriate for a 4 year old.

If you really want to try it, why not use the child care services at the GF.

DH and I were also looking into this for our trip in September. I called the Dining Reservations line and found out that it's $165 per person, NOT including tax or tip. I don't think they have a children's menu or price and I'm not sure it would be appropriate for a child. We were going to have grandma & grandpa watch our DD while we went, but decided against it because we didn't want to spend $450 on one meal. I was told that it's 12-13 courses and lasts at least 3 hours. The dinner starts at 6pm so you'd be there until at least 9pm. DH and I still want to do it, but we'll probably wait awhile and maybe go with another couple or two. All the reviews we've read about it have been outstanding - I just can't justify spending so much on one dinner for the two of us when I could be using that money to buy DD Disney Souvenirs. Plus, it's her first trip and I felt a little guilty leaving her with the grandparents for a fancy dinner. :)
