Anyone who has cruised with little ones...we are a family of 5, with DS 14, DD 6, and DS 5months. We are thinking of booking a cruise for either fall 2008, when little one will be almost 2 years old, or spring 2009, when he will be 2 1/2 years old (preferably). Any suggestions? Also, with our kids so spaced out in age, they all fall into 3 different kid-age-groups. They are all out-going kids (so far) --do kids seem to do well without a sibling along so we can get a break from them for an hour or so here and there?

If you have a child under the age of 3, the only kids club option you'd have is Flounders Nursery (unless your child is completely potty trained and within a month or so of his/her 3rd birthday). You could accompany your child to the kids club and stay with them while they played, but they wouldn't be allowed to stay there without parental supervision. Flounders is an extra charge, has limited hours and bookings are accepted based on availability. You can't just drop off and pick up like the other kids areas.

My children are pretty spaced out in age. Our first cruise, we had one in the lab, one in the teen area and the other had just turned 18. They had no problem being away from the other siblings. Other than dinner time, we rarely saw each other :secret: .

Our 22 month old had a great time.

If you are really slick my understanding is that if you book a cruise and they turn 3 during the cruise you do not have to pay the fee for them.
They are treated as a infant.

We found the cruise very easy with young kids because our home base (room) was very easy to get back to at any time.
