2 officers with the Charlotte Police dept were shot and killed last night. There is more info on our tv station wcnc.com. Please keep these officers families in your prayers. One was 35 and was married, a 2 year old and his wife is 6 months pregnant with thier second, the other was also married, and 36. So very sad.

Wow, that is tragic news. My brother is a police officer so that kind of hits home. I think we need to realize how they really do put their lives on the line for us. They are an underappreciated group of heroes.

:ditto: Only my brother is a deputy sheriff and on the SWAT team.

My thoughts and prayers for the officers and their families. I pray that the Lord holds them all very close to his heart.

I just made a quick call to a friend whose son is about that age and is a Charlotte officer. He's fine. I missed the morning news so this is the first I've heard about it. Her son did know them. Apparently, one was a rookie.

Very sad news.

:pixie: :pixie: for both the officers families.
and also for all their coworkers. Hopefully who ever did the shooting has been caught and will be dealt with accordingly.
I just don't understand people these days. there is no accountability or concern for the life of others. everything seems to be a "do over"

I heard this on the radio last night. How tragic! My thoughts and prayers are with the families. How senseless.

Sending prayers for the fallen officers and their families. :( My grandfather was a state trooper so I remember the fears as a family.

Inscription on Police Officer's Memorial in Washington D. C.:

Its not how these officers died that made them heroes. Its how they lived.

They said on the radio this morning that there were some teens trying their best to help them both after it happend. One was on the force for just a year and the other for six years. It's so sad they were asking everyone to drive w/ the headlights on today and light a candle w/ a blue vase tonight. They were just trying to do there job and a guy younger than me took their life.

I've worked in law enforcement for almost 14 years. My sympathy goes out to all the officers, police departments employees, family and friends. I can't imagine the grief they feel.
God Bless
