Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set

With a few quick steps and a little movie magic, Mom, Dad and the kids "shrink" to the size of an ant and enter a film set wonderland of mammoth proportions in the "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort.

Based on the hit Walt Disney Pictures film, "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids," the studios attraction is every child's film fantasy come true, an exciting hands-on playground where kids can explore and let off steam. In the movie, the young heroes are shrunk by accident and wind up trekking through a jungle of giant grass where awesome insects lurk. At the Movie Set Adventure, a thicket of grass is 30 feet tall, a larger-than-life experience where mushroom caps are three stories tall and a friendly "ant" is suitable to sit upon.

Located near Streets of America on the Disney's Hollywood Studios backlot, the Movie Set Adventure promises 11,000 square feet of freewheeling fun.

As guests enter the set through a maze of dirt clods and rock, their imaginations run wild as they discover they're "shrunk" and surrounded by an adventure world of excitement. Backyard sounds are everywhere, from the buzz of a giant bee to the chirp of crickets and the steady sniffing of a dog's nose in the grass.

Straight from the hit movie is a 16-foot-tall building block, a giant cream cookie and a garden hose that's 52 feet long, complete with major leaks.

An area set aside for little tykes features a spider web climber and cocoon, a root maze with a flower petal slide, a mini-waterfall cascading from a leaf for cooling off and a dell of fern sprouts (some trimmed to form a stairway where sounds and musical notes are produced by guests as they step from sprout to sprout).

The tree stump slides are a focal point of the set, along with the giant mushroom mound that boasts three levels of tunnels interconnected by an internal spiral staircase. Geared towards the more adventurous is a huge spider web that features 11 levels of webs three stories high.

Nearby is the giant Kodak film can. Young explorers can climb inside, experience the echoes and escape on a slide down the film strip itself.

"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" Movie Set Adventure is designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, the creative design, engineering, production and project-management subsidiary of The Walt Disney Co.
