It's been
a long and winding road that has got us here. What started as an
experiment almost 10 years ago has blossomed into one of the most incredible
online communities on the INTERNET - and we couldn't have done it without
you!
As we
prepare to enter our second decade online, the time has come to take
INTERCOT to the next level. The hardware we are running on is more
than 5 years old - probably older than most of your home PC's! As you
can imagine, we are in desperate need of a new, high end dedicated web
server to
keep up with the growing traffic and demands of running a busy discussion
forum.
So, we've
decided to give you a chance to have a hand in the Imagineering of INTERCOT
and the dedication of our new and improved web server! As a bonus... if you can help
- we're going to give YOU something back as our way of saying thank you!
We have set up 3
simple ways to donate to the server drive... All payments are collected thru
PAYPAL.

Here's
the fine print:
1) PROMOTION DURATION: This promotion
will last for a limited time only - until April 20th
2007. If you want to participate, please don't wait till the last
minute or your chance will be gone.
2) AVATAR RULES:
After sending in your donation, you will be contacted within 7-10 days by a
member of the INTERCOT staff with instructions on how and what to submit to
a special email address designated especially for this promotion.
Some general
guidelines for submission...
a) The
image you send us must be clear and easily resized to 80x80 pixels and
may not be animated. The image you send in should be at least 80x80 or
larger - but not much larger. Please don't send us 1024x768 images and
expect them to be shrunk to avatar size. Not only will it clog our
mailbox - but chances are you'll have to resubmit something smaller.
Busy or large images are almost impossible to shrink to 80x80. It also
must be family-friendly (of course) and not a duplicate of an staff
image/character - so we don't create confusion.
b) This is a one time deal - once it's submitted and uploaded - that's
it.
No substitutions may be made.
If you change your avatar for any reason, holidays, special
occasions, etc... IT WILL BE LOST FOREVER.
SO DON'T CHANGE YOUR IMAGE IF YOU WANT YOUR CUSTOM AVATAR TO REMAIN IN
YOUR PROFILE!
Because this is an important point, we will repeat that one more time -
ONCE YOU CHANGE YOUR CUSTOM AVATAR TO SOMETHING ELSE - IT IS GONE
FOREVER. STAFF WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REPLACE IT.
c) If you can't come up with something special, you may select from the
avatars we currently have on the site and have your user name placed on
it (see example above) making it unique.
d) While this
may be obvious - we ask that you do not "borrow" avatars from other
Disney sites for use here.
3) T-SHIRT MAILING - All t-shirts will be
mailed within 2-3 weeks following the END of the promotion -
Approximately May 1, 2007. The
mailing will be announced on the discussion boards so you have a reasonable
expectation as to when they will arrive. T-shirts will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail.
