Two New Restaurants Coming to Disney World

There are two new restaurants on the dining horizon for the Walt Disney World Resort. In summer 2007, an Asian restaurant will debut in Animal Kingdom's Asia, at the current site of the Chakranadi Chicken Shop. The eatery will offer both full service table dining and quick service food. In early 2008, T-Rex: A Prehistoric Family Adventure, will open in Downtown Disney Marketplace. This restaurant will feature life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, a dig site, waterfalls, geysers, a retail shop and much more. Both establishments will be operated by the Rainforest Cafe's Landry's Restaurants, one of the largest casual dining and entertainment companies in the nation.

Annual Passholder Discounts Announced

Disney has released room-only discounts for Annual Passholders vacationing through June 3, 2006. The special gives you a flat discount off from rack rates; $25+ off Value resorts, $40+ savings on Moderate resorts and a $100+ savings on Deluxe resorts and Home Away From Home Resorts. The rates vary with the change of "Seasons" and the number of rooms offered is limited. The Timekeeper Closing Permanently

After being stuck in *Seasonal* limbo, since April 29, 2001, the Timekeeper is closing for good on February 26, 2006. The current character Meet & Greets held in the Timekeeper lobby will be relocated elsewhere in Tomorrowland. Walt Disney Imagineering is currently developing a new attraction for this location.

Raglan Road Celebrates St. Patrick's Day

The newest venue, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant, at Downtown Disney will host an authentic Irish celebration of St. Patrick's Day on March 17. There will be a $15 cover charge per person from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Live Irish music and dance, favorite Irish foods and a wide selection of Irish beers will be offered. Pleasure Island will join in on the St. Patrick's Day festivities March 16-18, from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. The island will turn "green" with music, videos, leprechauns and stilt walkers. Pleasure Island club admission is not required for this event.

New Boutique Opening in Downtown Disney

The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will be debuting April 5, 2006, at Downtown Disney Marketplace, located inside World of Disney. Young guests visiting the new interactive salon will be given the chance to be magically transformed into their favorite Disney princess. The boutique will offer makeovers and pampering services for youngsters ages 3 and up. Guests can call now to book appointments at 407-WDW-STYLE.

Captain Jack Sparrow to Join the Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Crew

The classic Disney theme park attraction Pirates of the Caribbean, will be adding new characters and features from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise. The attraction will close in March to complete the updates in time for the opening of the new film, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, on July 7. Captain Jack Sparrow and his nemesis Barbossa will be woven into some of the attraction's most familiar scenes. New special effects will also be added to enhance the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park experience.

Pleasure Island Hosting February Events

Pleasure Island will be hosting two festive events this month; Sweetheart Island and Parti Gras. Sweetheart Island, taking place February 10, 11 & 14, is an eclectic tribute to romance. Parti Gras puts a new spin on the Mardi Gras tradition February 24, 25 & 28. Both events include a variety of special entertainers and musical performances throughout the streets of Pleasure Island and do not require Club admission.
