Mission Space Preview Opening August 15, 2003
Disney officials announced an Aug. 15 "preview opening" for Epcot's Mission: SPACE, a one-of-a-kind thrill that will rocket guests to the galaxies in an out-of-this-world space adventure. Mission: SPACE "officially" launches in October. Presented by HP and featuring breakthrough technology that creates an unforgettable launch sequence and interplanetary journey, Mission: SPACE will take amazed riders straight up into space and on to Mars.

Expedition Everest Coming To Animal Kingdom in 2006
Legend holds that high in the Himalayan Mountains lives an enormous creature that fiercely guards the route to Mount Everest.  Now that legend comes dramatically to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in a new high-speed train adventure that combines coaster-like thrills with the excitement of a close encounter of the hairy kind.  Walt Disney World guests will discover for themselves the fearsome legend of the yeti when Expedition EVEREST opens in 2006 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. The new thrill attraction was announced today during the park’s 5th anniversary festivities at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Pop Century Resort Opens December 14
INTERCOT's Sponsor Magical Journeys can now book reservations for Disney’s newest value-priced resort - Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Opening Dec. 14, 2003, the 2,880-room, first phase of Disney’s Pop Century Resort will send clients on a trip through American popular culture spanning the 20th Century.

Port Orleans French Quarter Closing For Rehab
It has been confirmed that as of today Disney has stopped taking reservations for Port Orleans French Quarter.  The resort will go down for an extensive rehab, including repainting, replacing and refurnishing.  Disney has set a tentative start date in early May and estimate that the renovation will take a year, or possibly longer.  All guests with existing reservations will be notified and transferred.  Stay tuned for further developments.

Florida Residents Play 4 Days Return
The Florida Residents Play 4 Days passes are back! A Play 4 Days pass allows Florida residents four days in the four Walt Disney World theme parks for only $109 per person (plus tax). Good for visits between April 1 through Sept. 30, 2003 (only block-out date: July 4). A special "park hopper" bonus will give Play 4 Days ticket holders the option to "hop" among the 4 main Disney parks at no extra charge. Available to Florida residents only; proof of residency required for each adult. For more information on Play 4 Days, guests can call 1-407-WDW-4DAYS.

The Walt Disney World Resort has announced it's operating and event schedule for May 2003.  Also, 2 E Ticket Nights have been added on May 27 & 30 from 8-11 PM.  For guests visiting during this time, you will want to visit the park hours and events pages to aid in planning your trip.  Remember, all times and schedules are subject to change, so check back often.
