Port Orleans and Dixie Landings to Combine in 2001
Effective April 1, 2001 Disney's Dixie landings and Disney's Port Orleans
will combine operations into one resort to be known as Disney's Port Orleans
Resort. The resorts will now become two separate sections, "The Riverside"
(formerly Dixie Landings) and "The French Quarter" (formerly Port Orleans).
In preparation of the transition, Port Orleans Bonfammile's will close on
August 5, leaving Boatwright's at Port Orleans as the only full service
restaurant. Word is that one central check-in desk will serve both resorts
and that this merger will improve their overall operation.
