<< Introduction >>
Happy Fall
everyone! October is a very busy month at Walt Disney World, and we’re busy
here at the Insider as well, filling you in on all the new and exciting
events. Casey and Carol will have you up to speed in no time. Hang in there
for some INTERCOT happenings as well. Ray’s Bytes and Pieces highlights the
fun that is the Games forum, and Jane fills us in on all the September
member news in her Off Topic. Here we go!
<< Disney World Events with DisneyWizard >>
Fall is well
underway and so are new projects in Walt Disney World. Check out below for
some great events going on down in the Happiest Place on Earth right now.
- Stitch’s Great Escape to open soon -
On November 16th, the replacement for the much-debated Alien Encounter will
open to the general public. Cast Member previews are going to take place in
the near future, with soft-openings beginning October 5th, 2004. Check
INTERCOT for updates on the attraction including reviews following the guest
previews.
- Re-hitching ceremony discontinued -
Many disappointed guests have discovered that Disney is no longer offering
the “re-hitching” ceremony in the Land Pavilion like once celebrated. Check
out below to see what some INTERCOTees had to say about this decision:
“It was fun while it lasted. *And* I got a kiss from Chip out of it.” –Honey_BDynamo
“It's really not too surprising. There is a lot of ‘touchiness’ about
marriage in general these days...” –Gotta Love the TTA
More Information
- Lights, Motors, Action! Details emerge -

Disney-MGM Studios are beginning to surface. Some tidbits of the show
include a cast of 50 performers, a 177,000 square-foot facility, and a
5,000-seat stadium. Click below for more details and discussions on the
attraction.

“You can
discover more about a person in an hour of play than in a year of
conversation.”
- Plato
This quote explains why one of our more popular “community building” forums
is the Games and Trivia Forum…and besides that, they’re fun. In this forum
you can test your ability to predict the weekly NFL games in “Football Fun”.
You can also have fun with words in “Word Association” and “Change ONE or
TWO”. Not leaving Movie fans out, we have the seemingly never ending serial
game “Actor Association” that is loosely based on “Six Degrees of
Separation”….but remember in this game, there’s a special celebration when
you link a movie to Kevin Bacon.
Try to stump members with your clues in either “Who Are You?” or “Where In
The World Am I?” You can also have fun in “Just Questions”, where your post
must be in the form of a question. How about playing the “OR Game”, or
“Disney Lyrics” or “Movie Lines”? All these games help everyone to get to
know each other better and have fun at the same time. You can even invent a
new game and see if it catches on.
Each game has its own particular set of rules…make sure you follow them,
because the devoted followers of this forum are serious about their games.
Don’t be afraid to ask any of the forum moderators (Mel, Jane, Jamie or Ed)
or the starter of the game if you need help understanding the rules.
So jump in and have some fun…because in this forum, it’s all fun and games!

The leaves have
begun to fall, the kids are all back in school, baseball play-offs are
beginning and football season is in full swing. We saw a lot of ups and
downs in September. As is the custom at INTERCOT, JohnY posted a lovely
Patriot Day tribute to those lost on 9/11/01 and reminded us never to
forget.
Frances finally made her exit and who shows up? Jeanne and Ivan! Our poor
vacationing and Florida members were put through the ringer again with two
more hurricanes. We had some moments of concern for members and moderators
at INTERCOT. We are glad that all of you survived!
Do you know who Emma M. Nutt was? Did you talk like a pirate on September
19? Are you aware that September 15 was Someday? If not, then you haven’t
checked out Lizzy’s September celebrations! Each month Lizzy shares
well-known and not-so-well-known celebrations with us. Stop in the Cooler
and see what is being celebrated today!
Jamie’s Friday parties for the month of September included Labor Day Luau,
Put That Thing Where It Came Back From Hurricane Party, and Harvey Helps
Out. If you haven’t ended your week at one of Jamie’s parties, you don’t
know what you’re missing!
Where were you during the great INTERCOT Outage of September 2004? We all
found out how long the day can be without our daily (or hourly) fix! Special
thanks to JohnY for your hard work in getting us back up and running again.
It’s days like those that make us appreciate what a wonderful community you
have created.
It’s not all parties and celebrations in the Water Cooler. Our members have
heartache and problems, and often our members lend their support by sending
pixie dust, prayers or a kind word. Such a case came up last month when
harlowandthemermaid gave us the devastating news that her little Sam was
diagnosed with leukemia. We are all praying and sending every positive
thought and plenty of pixie dust for a complete recovery for little Sam!
On a more positive note, special congratulations go out to alphamommy on
completing the last of her radiation treatments! Stay healthy now, Tammy!
September birthday celebrations were held for: delarosa, MrIMAX, Grumpy's
Daughter, Dr_Nigel_C, serena, MaryLayson, wdw538884, MusicalMike95,
LittleLady, Calamity Jane, C & H (H), Mandy, Disney Fan Forever, TiJaMom,

We had several posting milestones in September and they were reached by
TiggerRPh – 23,000 posts, ChipnDaleGal – 7,000 posts, Piglet822 – 4,000
posts, Munch – 4,000 posts, weswerx – 3,000 posts, Honey_BDynamo – 1,000
posts, Tekneek – 1,000 posts, RYCA-1 – 100 posts. Congratulations to all of
you!
That about wraps up September - see you next month!
<< Conclusion >>
That’s going to
conclude this edition of the Insider. Look for another edition at the end of
the month. Linda will offer up tips on traveling to Walt Disney World with
an infant, Carol will review Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, Ron will
offer up some more of that great Disney trivia, and Melanie will tell us the
ins and outs of the Pin Forum. Until then, happy INTERCOTing!
