INTERCOT - Walt Disney World Inside & Out - Info Central

INTERCOT > Info Central >  Tips

Information... tips and more on the world from us and from you!  If you have a favorite tip about the worlds greatest vacation destination you'd like to share, email us at guestrelations@intercot.com

If we use your tip, we'll give you credit and publish it here!

1. Lines: Always use the left queue when you have a choice in a line.  Most people by habit chose the right side.  Left Queue's are usually shorter
2. Rain Delay: When there are short, 10 minute rain showers in the theme parks, don't leave. Most people think that it's going to rain forever and they leave for their hotel. If you just visit an indoor attraction while it's raining you will have the park to yourselves when the short rain stops.

3. Monorail: When in line for the monorail, ask a Cast Member to sit in the front with the driver. It has a great view of everything. It's especially cool going from the Transportation & Ticket Center to EPCOT, because you go right over the park!  (Intercot note... see a video of what this is like in the EPCOT Section.)

-Mike Zaleski

4. Meals: If you want a nice meal at a WDW restaurant, dine big at lunch and snack at dinner. Most of the nice places in Disney offer the same meals for lunch at reduced rates.
5 More On Meals: If you're looking for a great place to have lunch in the Magic Kingdom, find the Columbia Harbor House. It's exists between Fantasyland and Liberty Square. The eatery serves fast food items including fish and chips and the very same clam chowder that's served in Liberty Tree for cheaper. The first floor is usually crowded, but few people know about the often empty second floor which has a great view.

6. Character Appearances: When looking for a one specific character, just ask the "handler" (the cast member who escorts characters around the parks) if the specific character is appearing that day. The handler will call a central location & find out when and where they are appearing. You can stake out a spot well in advance of the "instant lines".

-Lisa Hoosier

7. Spaceship Earth is one of the most popular attractions at WDW. The fact that it is the first attraction you see upon entering Epcot makes the lines very long first thing in the day. Instead of going and waiting through the long lines, go on to the other attractions in Future World, and then either go on to World Showcase, or eat some lunch. About six o' clock (while everybody else is in World Showcase) Future World is very un-crowded especially at Space ship earth.

-Blake Sumner

8. Autograph Books: Lots of people buy autograph books in a Walt Disney World store so that their kids can get the Disney characters to sign it. Here's a tip on how to save those 4 dollars and get your children a lasting memory: Make your own autograph book before your trip.  It's so easy too. All you gotta do is get some nice colored construction paper, cut about ten sheets in half, and staple together so that they look like a little book. Then get your children to decorate it however they want. It's a great project for the kids, and the characters love them!
