When you see it like this, you realize what a nice little scam that Disney has cooking.

If I counted right, that is 45 nights of either MNSSHP or MVMCP. If you count the days from the first party night to the last party night it totals 94 days. That means that for 3 months Disney is occupying the MK for nearly 50% of the nights on a hard ticket event. Yet, if I go to the MK on a regular ticket, I certainly don't see any discount for not getting a full use day out of the park.

This year we went in January, so it wasn't an issue, but I first started feeling this in 2010 and really felt it in 2012, when in both cases we were there the day after Thanksgiving for 9-10 nights. That was when I realized how restricted my access was to the MK unless I was willing to fork over even more $$$$.

I've been to MVMCP twice, and I enjoyed it (personally don't think its worth the hard ticket price imo, but that is just me) but it seems to be getting out of hand how many nights they run these things.

Anyone know by comparison how 45 nights this year compares to previous years, going back a few? I'd be really curious to know if they've expanded it and by how much.

We've never done the MNSSHP, but we did try the Christmas party once. It was OK, but we also didn't think it was worth the $$$. I've heard great things about the MNSSHP, though. We may just give it a try this year!

We are going on Oct. 31! I am a teacher and can't normally go because the parties never land on a Saturday so we are going to go and take the kids. We are excited the party finally lands on a Saturday and Halloween to boot!

The Halloween Party is fun... For one or two times... After that, same old same old...

Yes, I've tired of it now since it is the same thing year after year.. I'm a Halloween Horror Nights kind of person (new and different houses every year)... But for someone who hasn't done MNSSHP, I'd recommend it...

TRICIA JONES: I heard that you were going to propose to Brandi Svenning at some theme park. When are men going to learn that women want ROMANCE, not Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...

BRODIE: Hey, now, be fair. EVERYONE wants Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

Ugh!! Sooo disappointed. We normally go a week later in Sept (usually starting week of Labor day) and as previous poster was thinking, we are booked for a week earlier this year and cannot change our dates. No MNSSHP for us this year DH is not going to be happy about this. Oh well. another excuse to book a bounce back for 2016

I agree. Just think of how much Disney makes on just that night (average $60 pp times how many tickets are sold) never mind the cost of a one-day ticket. But...we all pay it.

No wonder why Disney made a PROFIT...yes PROFIT of just under One Billion Dollars last year.

I think Walt is rolling over in his grave at what his beloved park is turning into.

I have been to MNSSHP on days when MK was more crowded during the party than during the day. Either way, it is a bit crazy for sure. Having been to both over the years, it seems like the secret is out and they aren't as much fun as they used to be. They don't seem very special anymore, unfortunately.

Well, he never really wanted to have a theme park in Florida. That was a concession made to get the investors in on the project.
