New Fantasyland Grand Opening Set For December 6 at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney

New Fantasyland Expansion Grand Opening Set for December 6, 2012
The grand opening for the New Fantasyland expansion at Magic Kingdom® Park at Walt Disney World® Resort will take place on Dec. 6, 2012! Attractions included in this opening are Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid, Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Ariel’s Grotto, Gaston’s Tavern and Bonjour! Village Gifts. Previews of these attractions will begin earlier, on Nov. 19.
As previously planned, the New Fantasyland expansion will continue with the opening of Princess Fairytale Hall in 2013 and the debut of a new Disney “mountain” in the form of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train in 2014. The Storybook Circus section of the New Fantasyland expansion, which includes Barnstormer – Starring the Great Goofini, the Casey Jr. Splash & Soak Station, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant, opened to Guests in July.

*Sigh* Our trip ends the Saturday before the previews. On the one hand, i'm glad that we won't be there for the opening, because I would imagine that a lot of people are starting to book trips for early December now.
My DW and I will be back in late April, though, and are very excited to try out Be Our Guest restaurant. Nice!

Sigh..
Since it said Fall Opening (thought it included Holidays I was thinking mayyyybeee), I was hoping it would be open for my late Oct. trip - but as some have said, I'm glad that I won't be there for the opening as it will be extremely busy! However - good planning on their part, that tends to be the "slowest" week out of the Thanksgiving - Christmas time period.

I have read that previews for the FL start on Nov. 19. I think I read that AP holders can register for the previews. Does anyone know if that is correct? If so how does that work? We are arriving on the 17th and will be upgrading our tickets when we arrive to AP's.

What's unfortunate about this announcement is that Disney Dining still has NO ressie times available for Be Our Guest restaurant. You'd think with a definite timetable to open, we could make ADRs. What's worse is that they don't even have a date where the reservations can be made. I guess the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing.

It is being reported that Nov 19th is the start of the public preview. The AP preview dates have not been released yet. I'm tentatively booked Nov 11-15. Keeping my fingers crossed the AP dates fall within that time.

I was on the phone with a DVC rep last night and internally they've been told reservations for Be Our Guest will start late August. Not sure why they don't have an exact date yet.

leaving on the 6th
we already have our trip planned & fly home on 12/6. I thought when they said some rides would open for the holidays that it might include all of Dec. We're not AP holders as we can only afford to go every 8 yrs or so.... Any info on public preview?

bevyoakum, Disney has announced the attractions will be opened for previews Nov 19. This date is for everyone.

Suppsoedly you will be able to start booking Be Our Guest Restaurant starting August 20.. First day you can book for is November 19... Current word on the street anyway...

Current word I saw was booking indeed on August 20, but for dates December 6 and on. So what you saw is for the first day of previews, and date I saw was for first 'official' day of opening. Never know what to believe in this internet age. 
Sort of wish they'd do it like they handled La Hacienda and Via Napoli openings - no ADRs for soft opening, just walk-ups.

Yea I don't believe half of what I hear and almost none of what I read on certain internet sites (especially FB which is where this date came from)... I imagine Disney Parks Blog will put up the official word this week since Monday is the day...
