Default Villa Maintenance

I noticed over the past 10 days that my beach club 1 BR villa needed some maintenance. I fixed handles on the sliding doors (using a kitchen knife), and the faucets were all leaking (kitchen and bathrooms), and our remote controls were missing battery covers (seriously). As a DVC member, I wondered what they're doing with all of my annual dues. How does DVC manage maintenance? Do they rely on guests to inform them of broken things, or do they rely on housekeeping, or do they periodically inspect? Do they just not care? I didn't say anything during the trip because I didn't want some maintenance guy snooping around. I didn't say anything after the trip because we barely made Magical Express. Assuming someone moved in after I left, it leaves very little time to fix things. Just wondering if you know what they do.

I fix the little things too but I make a list of things that need attention and give it to them at checkout.

I compare it to my kids, I tell them if I don't know somethings wrong, I can't fix it. I think it's the same for DVC.

We stayed at BLT last September in a 1 BR. First time I entered the bathroom, I almost fell due to a slick floor. The second bathroom was also very slick. It didn't matter if I was wearing shoes, flip flops, or barefoot. I attributed this to the newness of the building. I reported the condition, but nothing was done during our stay.

I've had some issues before and I call down to maintenance, mostly because I do not want to be assessed any fee for damaging the unit when it wasn't me who did it. I know when we stayed at V@WL there was a broken drawer and handle. I believe they came up and fixed it. I do think the rooms need to be inspected and repaired a bit more frequntly. Considering all the dues paid in.
