Default Scooter Question

I am bringing my own scooter with me this trip and have a question for those who have flown with your scooter.

Do you put luggage tags on every part of the scooter? Tiller, battery, motor, seat etc? I was planning on doing that as well as sticky address labels. Or is just one tag on the scooter ok?

DW took her ECV on Jet Blue in 2007. No tags needed with them. She rode to the gate, they took it to load. On landing it was about a 15 min wait for it to get back to her.
BTW when trying to book our flight, Jet Blue was the only carrier that gave us straight answers on the phone.

I have flown with mine on Airtran several times now. It is really easy to do. I do have a luggage tag that I placed on the tiller of mine, not so much for the flight, but a way to distinguish it differently than other scooters matching mine.

I just ride the scooter to the gate. When I get there I ask the gate agent for a gate check tag. Most of the time they only put one on the tiller of the scooter, but have had them put one on the battery also. I have never had any issue with flying with my scooter, except for the one time it was unloaded up the ramp on the angle instead of on the level side. This caused my scooter to not want to go when I got on it. The skycap just put it in neutral and pushed it up to the top for me. Once on the level the scooter acted just fine, but it sure scared me for a bit.
