Would like some input please
We were planning to go to WDW in August. We were going to try to get 6 nights in a 2BR at BCV and if we can't then maybe BWV. We booked my inlaws in a 1BR at OKW in Jan. My DH was recently saying he wished we could go south for a trip in Jan too (winters in MD can be painful). I suggested we go to WDW in Jan instead of Aug. The week my inlaws are going (23-29) my kids have off school 2 days. We olny have 95 points to work with, so I suggested we get 2 studios at OKW for the 22-27 and come home so the kids can go to school on Fri the 28th (that way they'd only miss 2 days of school). I called DVC today and they have nothing. No studios at BWV (sv), AKL (vv or sv) or OKW. No 1BRS at any of these either. There are 6 of us, so a 1BR might be tight, but my inlaws have a 1BR for just 2 of them, so we could put 2 kids on their sleeper sofa. My inlaws suggested a 2BR (oddly, they do have some of those for sure at SSR), but we'd have to make our dates the same as them and the kids would miss 3 days of school. Plus, how would 4 adults and 4 kids (11,11,13,14) be in a 2BR? Wouldn't that be tight? I already checked on the treehouse villas and they are booked. Thanks!

I would say keep the kids out of school for 3 days... 1 couple gets the king bed, 1 couple gets the double in the other room and the kids all share the sleeper sofas... and you can always bring an air mattress too. Yes, It will be tight... but spend time at the parks, and set clear bathroom shower time rules, I think you would be fine.

Agree with the above poster. We've done eight people in a 2-bedroom and it's fine. This is just me, but I'd put the in-laws in the king room, give the kids the other bedroom and my DH and I would take the sleeper sofa. That way all the kids and my in-laws would be out of my way for the night.

Thanks guys. I was all set to book a 2BR, but all they had was SSR, so I hesitated (was hoping for BWV for location or OKW for size). Then I checked out dining and tried to make resies, since we'd do the DDP. I had a difficult time making resies. My inlaws already have them, so I tried to get another table for 6 around the same time at the same place and not much luck (I could do 2 of the 5 TS dinners). With all these things not alligning, I think we'll just wait and go in August. Man...it would have been sweet to be going in 7 weeks. Well...at least I'll be booking my Aug trip in 7 weeks. There's that!
