Default Old classic movies

I am on a binge. Over the weekend on Netflix instant view we watched "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington," "Bells of St. Mary's," "The Sting" and "All About Eve." Last month we watched "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein."

I love that we can do this -- at the risk of sounding like an old fuddy-duddy, they just don't make 'em like they used to!! I love Netflix!!

Wait a second - I saw "The Sting" when it came out in the theater - are you calling me "old"?

Nah -- the movie is old. OK, maybe not old, just middle-aged. Although I have to tell you my age meter went up when my teenage daughter saw Robert Redford on the screen and asked, "Is that Brad Pitt?"

When we built out house, I was very particular about the media set up. 52" LCD HD TV, 7 channel surround sound system, stepped seating, blue ray - the works.....AND MY WIFE WATCHES BLACK AND WHITE MOVIES!!!!!!!!!!

I love old movies... anything Alfred Hitchcock... Jimmy Stewart, Vincent Price... I love all the old musicals with stars like Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. "Singin' In the Rain" is probably my all time fave.

I love old Marlon Brando movies. Wow, was he a looker! On the Waterfront and Guys and Dolls -

And Montgomery Clift! Raintree County and From Here to Eternity are good ones.

I'm a Cary Grant fan. My favorites are "Charade" and "Arsenic and Old Lace".

Funny enough (even though we're a huge "action flick" - and Disney - family), some of our most watched movies star Errol Flynn, Humphrey Bogart, Kirk Douglas & Charleton Heston. Aren't they the best?

I love all of the old classic movies! I agree, movies today just aren't the same. I'm 22 and sometimes I think I was born in the wrong year

Only if you saw 'Abbott and Costello Meets Frankenstein' in theaters when it first came out.

'It Happened One Night' is one of my favorites, but it's amazing that it was released 75 years ago. 'Arsenic and Old Lace' is a favorite too - love Cary Grant.

I haven't been on an old movie binge in a while, but there are certain ones that I watch whenever they're on, even if there are only a few minutes left. My favorites of these are 12 Angry Men, Inherit the Wind, Singin' in the Rain, and The Music Man (all of which I own on DVD).

I also love Hello Dolly, which I've been asking for the past few holidays and haven't gotten yet. I'll give them one more chance, then I'm buying it myself!

I will admit, I have never been a fan of the "classics"...until a few years ago when I stood in line for my favorite DHS attraction, The Great Movie Ride. When I saw all of those trailers, I found many of them looked amazing! And the ones featured in the ride looked great too!! So, it has been my personal mission to watch ALL the movies featured in the Great Movie Ride. And this opened the window to my newly discovered passion for watching older movies.
So Far, of the classics, I've Seen:
The Birds
Vertigo
Psycho
Singin' in the Rain
Casablanca
Rear Window
Harvey
Some Like it Hot
..and of course the Disney classic, Mary Poppins
(and I agree with the above posters...I'm 18 and love the messages of the old movies, and the comedy is great too!)

For Albert Hitchcock fans, try Stranger on a Train with Robert Walker. The filming of the sceen with the glasses is amazing. You sure couldn't get that in color.
