Question DDP and Hoop de du Revue

Help!!! I originally booked in July my reservation for Hoop de du Revue for 4 people on Dec 13th. I told the CM that, as of now, I did not have the DDP, but I would probably get it when the "new deals" came out. She told me it would not be a problem to change the reservation for 2 TS credits. It was charged to my credit card back in July.
Well, surprise!!! I did add the DDP to my reservation. I've called and spoken to two different CM. The first one didn't have a clue what I was talking about, so I called back. The one today said because I was a "Category 1" I couldn't switch it to DDP. That was for only Category 2 or 3. I told her I would gladly switch to 2 or 3, but that level is "sold out". I "could keep on calling closer to the date or cancel the reservation I have."
I plan on keeping the reservation as I am bringing my 75 year old mother who's only request was to see this show, but I am a little frustrated that when I booked it in July, I specifically told the CM that I would likely be using the DDP to pay for it and was told "That will be no problem!" Any ideas from anyone on how I can apply this to DDP???

Unfortunately, unless you can switch to a tier that is covered by the dining plan, you'll probably need to pay this one out of pocket.

    I'm sorry for your frustration.

If the CM booked you a category 1 seat, then you can't use the DDP to pay for it. I'm not sure if you could try for another night, and if there is room use the DDP for that show, and get your payment refunded.

If you can't use the DDP, start thinking about where you'd like to use the 2 TS credits. Maybe there is another special meal you can book, or a TS breakfast for a change?

I was able to use the DDP for category one, but I had to attend the later show. Have you tried a different time?
I'd be mad that one CM said it wouldn't be a problem, and now it is.

It's unfortunate that the CM told you that. Category 1 is never available on the dining plan unless you go to the later show. So, that information was incorrect whether you were on the plan or just thinking about it. If I were in your shoes, I would enjoy my Cat. 1 paying oop, and go do a fun signature dinner on another night. That's what we did this January.

While the HDD is one of my favorites, I would never consider using two credits to eat there. Use them at a couple of other TS locations. Two credit meals in generally are a bad value on the DDP. Same with TS breakfasts and many lunches.

I was told I could switch to 9:30 show, but a little too late for my mother!!! I did book a character breakfast and now I'm thinking of getting tix for the Spirit of Aloha show, it will probably be last time my mother will ever be down there and I think she'd enjoy it.
I am a little mad, that I specifically asked would this be a problem and was told no. I honestly didn't even know there was a price difference on the different tiers. But, I would rather find out now, then when I went to pick up tickets and then I'd be scrambling to get TS meals for the extra credits. Bright side to everything!!!
    Thanks for everyone's input!!

There's a reason why you can get tickets to Spirit of Aloha with short notice, but not for HDD. I'd keep the HDD, the holiday show is even better than the regular show.

Also, your mom is right, eating at 9:30 is way too late. I did it once and it was just too much food that late at night, vowed I would never do that again.

thats one show/2TS i wouldn't mind paying OOP for!

yeah if you told the CM at the beginning you were possibly going to use the DP, they should have immediately only let you go Cat 2 or 3 so that you could transition seamlessly. by allowing you to buy Cat 1 OPP it pidgeon holed you into the 9:30PM show OR as you found having it sold out.

    Im sorry!!!

Sorry, it's not a completely different show, it's more of a festive occassion. They sing a few Xmas songs, and the place is decorated for XMas. It's different and better, but not completely new.

The HDD is a must do for us, we couldn't bear to miss it. We've been known to go twice on some trips.
