Ice Cream Question

Well, we leave tomorrow for the World! We check in this Sat morning and really looking forward to it!

On my last trip I discoved what imo is the best ice cream ever! I had noticed the small building outside of Rock n' Rollercoaster for years but never tried it until my last trip. Its soft serve icecream in a waffle cone. What makes it so good is the "gel" like liquid on the "points" of the icecream. The flavor list is huge. My favorite is the Banana Split but I plan on trying a lot more this trip.

My question is this, does anybody know what I am talking about? If so, is there any place I can get this type of ice cream besides just outside RnR? Is this building still there and selling this? Its been about 2 years since I went last and I would hate to find out that its gone.

I think you are refering to the KRNR Station stand. As of last July, it was still there and I haven't heard of it closing. I don't know what they are still serving though. I might just have to check it out in August!

I have never had ice cream from this place, but your description has motivated me to seek out this place when I am there next week!

Ok, so after much digging around the internet and looking at a bunch of photos online to find the little shop, I found it!

The place is called KRNR The Rock Station. I also found a menu from 2007. I hope it is still current. The item I am talking about it below.

Flavor Burst - Served in waffle cone. Flavors: bubble gum, pistachio nut, black cherry, tropical orange, strawberry banana, blue cotton candy and banana split. $3.79

Basically think of soft serve ice cream. It has to be the kind of soft serve that has the 5 or 6 "points" on. On each of these "points" is the flavor. For example, on the Banana Split flavor, you have 2 "points" with a chocolate flavor, 2 "points" with a strawberry flavor, and 2 "points" with a banana flavor. The best part is the bottom of the cone becuase a TON of the flavor is at the bottom.

So, hopefully it will still be there and serving these amazing flavors. I will be on the hunt to find more of this unique flavor experience at other places in the "World" but I don't think that will happen.

They had a place like this at DCA. It's called Catch A Flav. They recently did away with the flavor swirls, though. Now they serve regular vanilla, chocolate, or swirl flavor. I wouldn't hold out much hope for the Studios ice cream stand having the flavor swirls.
