One day, one park...
...what would you choose?
We're going down to FL to visit DH's aunt and we're thinking about heading over to Disney for a day (likely Tuesday, June 1 or Wednesday, June 2). We love all the parks, but haven't kept up on things lately (parades, light shows, etc.)
So which park would you pick and why? TIA!

I usually spend more time over at EPCOT, but if I only had one day in WDW, I would go to the Magic Kingdom, hands down! To me, the Magic Kingdom is the heart of the magic of Walt Disney World.
SpectroMagic is a fabulous lighted night-time parade and 'Wishes' is a spectacular fireworks display. Both these spectacles will be showing both June 1 & 2. I would go there either day. Open 9 am - 11 pm.
Best of luck to you!

I don't feel like I've been to WDW unless I've been to the Magic Kingdom.
Love the Wishes! fireworks show.

I have to agree. I love Epcot, and we spend tons of time there, DH loves DHS, but I couldn't be at Disney and not go to the MK.

I love Epcot, so if it were me it would be a toss up between that and MK. We did this once on the way to the Keys, and chose Epcot because Mission Space was soft-opening. My husband really, really wanted to ride it.

I agree, also. To me, you're not really getting the full Disney experience if you don't go to the Maic Kingdom! Have fun!

For me, it would be MK - it's the most "magical" and I could never miss it.

I have to go with everyone else and say the MK. Although I like other parks MK just says Disney.

There's a pattern here...
Magic Kingdom by far. If we are within 50 miles of Orlando we have to go at least to the MK for 1 day. Start at rope drop and go until closing. Have fun

Yet another vote for Magic Kingdom!!! This is always the first park we visit on a trip. It just gives me that Disney feel instantly!!! There is so much to see and do here during the day and with SpectroMagic and Wishes going on in the evening, you'll have a nice full day! Have fun! Plus, the Magic Kingdom has the longest regular park hours on both days!

You guys are awesome...thank you so much for your replies! I think we'll be headed to the MK. I agree with many of you. Epcot has always been my favorite, but I think I would feel like I was missing something if we went to Orlando and didn't hit MK. I have never been there with my DH, and although we can't afford to take a whole vacation right now, this will give us something to look forward to.
Thanks again for your help!

If you have little ones and/or teens...probably MK. If it's just the older folks, I'd go for Epcot.

I agree generally that Magic Kingdom is the park to see if you can only see one. But you didn't mention how long it's been since you've visited, or what the ages and interests of your traveling party are. If it's all adults, and/or it's not all crazed drooling Mickey fans like us, Epcot might be a better fit.
It's so hard to choose!!!!

I would go to MK for the one day. I like all the parks but MK just oozes disney to me. It also has the most rides of the parks.
