Update:
Thanks for the response regarding the Titanic Museum. I just learned that what I'm thinking of is called the Titanic Experience in Orlando. Have any of you been there, any comments? Thanks!

Has anyone gone to the Titanic Museum? I was always intrigued by the story of the Titanic and thought it might be interesting to go to the museum. Any thoughts?

I have been to 2 titanic museums/exhibits. Once was at Moody Gardens in Galveston. It was a traveling exhibit which was wonderful. It had a wide aray of artifacts and information.
The other one that I went to was the permanent museum in Branson. It was amazing. The stories, the artifacts, the exhibits, are all wonderful. My one piece of advice is to rent the little telephone thing that you can hear all of the additinal information that there is. You get to sit in a lifeboat, feel an iceberg, there is an exhibit where you can put your had in water and feel how cold it was, there are simulations as to how it felt when the ship was tilting. Wonderful. All together amazing. I would recommend anyone visit.

We saw the exhibit at the Tropicana in Las Vegas. I thought it was great, but of course very sad. When you walked in you got a card with a passengers name with a little info on them and class that they were on. The rooms were kept dark but there was enough light to be able to see the displays. If you are interested in history it was very educational. On the wall at the end of the exhibit are all the passengers names according to class. You can look for your name and will find out if they survived.
The one thing I did not like was the recreated staircase that you could get your picture taken on. I just thought that was tacky and disrespectful.

I haven't been, but would really like to hear about anyone's experiences as well. This is something that I'm really considering going "off property" for on our next trip and I'd like to know whether it's worth it or not.

If it is the same as the Titanic experience at the museum in Milwaukee, it was a lot of fun. You are given a card giving a brief bio of a person on the ship. Then you walk through various sites giving the history of the Titanic with replicas of berths and other parts of the ship. I won't ruin the end. The family had a really good time, it took a couple of hours, but time well spent. For the record...I was a doctor from the Far East and I lived.

Titanic Experience?
Has anyone done the Titanic Experience? I looks like it has some nice artifacts and displays. We'll be in Orlando for a long time in June and I'm looking for some other things to do.
