I can hardly believe that our trip is almost here. This trip has been a year in the making, and almost didn't happen at all. We originally had it planned for September but because of financial "challenges" we moved it to December.
We are only 39 days away from our trip and I am afraid that one day I will let it slip. That's right, it is truly a surprise for our two children.
We decided to keep it a surprise for three reasons. One, I have a son that would not stop talking about it if he knew. Yes, he causes my ears to bleed.

Two, if for any reason we had to cancel it, I would rather them not know so that we would not break their tender hearts. Three, surprising them two trips ago was so exciting for us and for them, why not do it again.
We also added a twist. We have to go to Orlando in January for a cheerleading competition. So, we have told them to pick out two parks to visit when we return. However, we will not have the time to go, but we are using it as a "sleight of hand" to keep them off of the surprise.
So, here's the deal.
We travel to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. We will spend the long weekend with them. Sadly, wink-wink, we will have to get up very early on Sunday to travel back home. And, to top it off, we heard that there is a faster way to travel home. That's the story we will tell the kids.
Instead of going home this faster way, we will be on our way to Disney World. I am not sure how far we will be able to travel before they figure it out, but we hope to make it to the Florida Turnpike before they figure it out. And to help further that along, we will give them two brand new movies to watch while we travel I-75 south.
I hope that we are successful.
Our trip will last from 11/29 until 12/9. So, we will stay for 11 days and 10 nights. We are staying at the Pop Century Resort. Our last two trips have been there and we have loved it.
This will be our first trip to Disney for their Christmas season. One time we watched a Disney Special on the Travel Channel and we were all so excited to try it one time.
We have already made our ADR's and are so excited to try some new restaurants.
Tutto Italia (loved it)
Teppan Edu (new)
Tusker House (wife loves)
Boma (new)
San Angel Inn (really enjoyed last time)
Le Chefs de France (wife loves)
Whispering Canyon (new)
Marrakesh (tried on honeymoon 14 years ago)
Le Cellier (love it)
I can't begin to tell you how excited we all are. After a crazy, painful and financially difficult year, we ALL need this break to get away from everything and just spend time as a family.
Finally, something I am real excited about, is that I have all of the family (grandparents, etc.) giving money for the kids. Rather than spend money on presents for their birthday and then for Christmas, the family is splitting the budget for each event and combining it for the kids to spend down at Disney. To me that seems like a much better birthday & Christmas present.
I look forward to a wonderful time and will have to tell you, my Intercot friends, more about our trip and how the surprise goes. So, for now, help me keep the secret.
