POP Century room advice
I have odd desires for my rooms, nothing wierd but probably not typical. I have never stayed at POP and you guys always have great advice.
1. I will be driving myself everywhere, so a room with a short walk to the parking lot is way more important than being close to the main food court and big pool.
2. I would like to be able to have a nice pond\ lake view with the possibility to see fireworks in the distance from Epcot or anywhere else.
3. We will be getting refillable mugs so being somewhat close to the food court would be nice, but not as important as close to our vehicle.
4. Our daughter is a light sleeper so a quiet area would also be nice.
We currently have a Preferred Room but as I was looking at the map, I think a preferred room is not what I want based on my above desires.
I was thinking a high room in the 50's building facing the pond\ lake is more what I need. I beleive this would then also be a standard room and not preferred.
Am I right about this or totally wrong and should stick with the preferred and request a certain section to try to get what I want.
Thanks, you guys rock.

We stayed in the 50s and we didn't really find it to be so bad of a walk. And the parking lot in FRONT of the main entrance seems like it would be pretty close for you. Not to mention you have your own pool right out in front of the 50s entrance. The pond is really nice too. I didn't know you could have a view of it though.

It's sort of impossible to get all of those requests, but the 50s building with a lake view, top floor would come closest. Don't expect a great view of the fireworks, but you can see them a little bit. I've stayed on the 4th floor of 50s and 70s with lake views and we could definitely see the occasional firework going off, just not the whole show. 50s is also closer to the parking lot, though there are buildings in the 80s and 90s that are closest to the parking lot. There is a 50s building closer to parking, but it doesn't have a lake view so you kind of have to choose what's most important. Higher up rooms are definitely quieter.

I figured I couldn't them all. Thanks for the info.
Is a fourth floor, water facing 50's building just a standard room? I think it is, but at other resorts anything with a water view is typically preffered.
Is there a particular build I should request or would just water facing 50's building work?

Just stay away from the 90's...although it is close to the parking lot. We stayed at POP last week (90's)....never again,

Yes, it's a standard room. And just request 50's 4th floor lake view and that will be sufficient.

arrive early
Even though you can request certain room areas (buildings or floors, etc), there is no guarantee that your request will be honored. It is more likley to be honored if you arrive early rather than late. If possible, try to arrive early afternoon (at the latest), even though your room will not be ready. If you don't like the room they have assigned to you, ask for another room that meets your most important request. Also, rank your requests (whether 50's or fourth floor is most important, etc), to help the CM pick another room for you.
If you arrive late, you may find that all the other rooms have been occupied already.

Request a room in the 50's... I stayed in a 50's room the first time I booked Pop Century... The walk to the parkign lot was short.. PLUS, you are close to the food court and bus stop, so you get all three... There is 50's music playing by the pool, which is shaped like a bowling pin... You don't hear the music until you step outside the room... I think you'll love Pop Century...
