Disney kennels
I would really appreciate any current info. that anyone has on the Disney kennels. I have seen the prices, but I am looking for a more personal perspective. Also, does anyone know anything about the new pet resort scheduled to be built at the Bonnet Creek resort? We have a new pet and may be heading back to the World sometime in 2010 so I am gathering information now, thanks in advance for your help.

I have personally never used them. However, there is a "live" trip report in the forum right now discussing this. It's titled "Spur of the moment trip". I would link it, but I don't know how. Sorry. Anyhow, the couple took their pup with them to WDW, so you can read their experience.

 Congrats on your new addition
We have used the WDW kennels for our past 5 or 6, can't remember, trips to board our lab/pit mix Maggie. We have always really enjoyed using the kennels, as has Maggie.
We have only used the EPCOT kennel. Because we leave Maggie during the day and night for the week we are in Disney we picked the park we spent the most time at so that visiting her several times throughout the day was always easy.
We did not use the kennels last year so I'm not sure if any info has changed since then but here we go..
Bring all of your pet's records. You are also going to need to get a current bortedella (can't remember how to spell it but its a shot for kennel cough) before boarding your pet. Standard operating procedure for kennels. Additionally they must be up to date on rabies, ect. My suggestion, make an appointment with your vet 1 month before boarding to get a clean bill of health and all necessary shots.
We always brought along our own food, treats and bowls all of which the kennel will also supply if you are tight on space while traveling. I also always found an old sweatshirt or tshirt of mine, along with maggie's bed to lay in the bottom of the kennel. The kennel itself can vary in size. We've gone in July and the kennels were usually pretty quiet so they'd put animals in a cage a size bigger then neccessary. Maggie always had a kennel big enough for her bed on one side and enough room to wander to the other side to eat/lay down ect.
The kennels are completely enclosed, air conditioned and sound proof so no worries about fireworks scaring your pet . We always chose to walk Maggie ourselves about 4 times a day. Once before parks, two mid day and once at the end of the night. You can pay additonal to have the kennel staff put your dog in a closed in outside run as well I belive.
Prices have probably changed, it cost us around 25$ a day/night being WDW resort guests. It may have changed some but we always felt the prices were more then reasonable. Also, something we found out our second trip, (though I would check to make sure you still can) you can gain access to your pet after the kennel has closed. With our kennel paperwork we were given a phone number for EPCOT security after hours. We could call them and they'd send someone over to review our paperwork and allow us into the kennel to walk Maggie. It was nice because we didn't have to worry about rushing out of dinner/fireworks ot make it to the kennel by closing.
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to ask anymore specific questions of me.
Maggie always loves her stay in the kennel. We always laugh because after a 15-30 minute walk in the florida humidity she was dragging us back to her air conditioned kennel. We've always found the staff nice to talk to and true animal lovers like ourselves.
One word of warning: if you pack treats, tell them how many your pet can have a day. Maggie coaxed an ENTIRE bag of treats out of the staff in a little under three days.

When our german shepherd was about 8 months old, we used the one at DHS for a day. It was clean, nice and we went back several times to walk Cody. He seemed content. He has SLO now so we leave him with my sister, even when we go on a day trip. I don't want to make him have any more stress than necessary.

Here's the first day of the trip report mentioned earlier. You can find the whole series of days in the Trip Reports forum.

Great question and thanks for the info! DH and I have been going back and forth as to weather to board the dogs here or bring them down with us...is there a limit to how many you can board? If we did this, we would drive down and have three dogs to board....

I doubt theres a limit. As long as your willing to pay for each dog and there is sufficient room in the kennel. I do believe that even if you bring two or three dogs with you their policy is that each dog is kept in a seperate cage within the kennel.

Thank you all so much! This information has been so helpful. I was nervous about the kennels now I feel so much better. I knew the Intercot family would have the answers.

We have a german shepard/husky mix name Kodi too! Ha ha - again, another spelling change! I am so excited! Thanks to this thread I have convinced DH to go to Disney again next year! That way we can drive down (saving $$) and our dogs can get used to their first time kennel experience but still get to see us!! THANK YOU!!!

So glad I could start a thread that made another Disney trip possible Where in Epcot are the kennels located, I assume near the front, but where?

I do not have any copies of the kennels on my computer but I can try to describe where they are.
As you are walking towards the entrance of EPCOT go as far left as possible. They are located a few feet prior to the ticket booths and theres a decent sized sign outside that says EPCOT kennels.
There is also a parking area specifically for those using the kennels. We always arrived to drop Maggie the first day before the park opened. If you drive up to the gates and talk to whatever attendent is there just tell them your headed to the kennels. (The dogs in the backseat will be enough to prove thats what your up to) They will then direct you to follow a colored arrow painted throughout the parking lot that brings you to the closest parking for the kennel. From there its a 30 second walk.
After dropping your pets off you'll get a piece of paper that you can show to the attendents at the gate if you are arriving the EPCOT while the park is closed to see you pooch.
As per the pictures, sorry I don't have any handy! I will tell you there were always extremely clean and surprisingly quiet for a kennel. They have a small waiting area that is seperate from the rest of the kennels for checking in and such. Also they don't allow anyone under the age of 18 I believe back in by the animals so this cuts down on the dogs going crazy due to families all entering the kennels together.

Also I noticed you mentioned that TTC kennels. I will tell you that since using the EPCOT kennels we poked around at the TTC kennels, the MGM kennels and Animal Kingdom Kennels.
We especially didn't like these other three because of how close to everything at the parks they were. There was also extremely limited space for walking your pet and parking near the kennels. The EPCOT kennels are unique in that they are rather set apart from the flow of traffic going into the parks. They also have a large grassy area that remains quiet even during the busiest part of the day for walking your pups.
Also I poked around in my old WDW stuff and we paid more like 17 per day/night for our pooch two years ago..

Under info central it lists prices...but do you pay the day price and the night price? So I think on there it would be something like $28 total for a day and a night together?? Am I reading this right?

For overnight guests who are staying at a WDW resort it was would be 18$ per day and night...
So a trip that your staying at WDW for five nights would be
18 x 5 + tax for your pet's kenneling...

Wow more help and great information! I am so excited about our first trip to the World with Oscar the dog! It probably will be next February, but now that I have such positive information about the Epcot kennel, maybe sooner is possible...
